Nora (river)
The Nora (russian: Нора) is a river in Amur Oblast, Russia. It is the 2nd longest tributary of the Selemdzha after the Ulma, with a length of and the first in drainage basin area, with . The name originated in "nehru", the Evenki word for "grayling". The river flows across a desolate, uninhabited area. The Lower Nora Zakaznik (Нижне-Норский заказник) is a protected area for the Siberian roe deer that was established in 2010 in the lower basin of the river. Course The Nora is a right tributary of the Selemdzha. It has its origin in the southern slopes of the Dzhagdy Range. In its upper reaches the Nora flows fast among pebbles and boulders in a roughly SW direction across the Amur-Zeya Plateau. Then in its lower course it bends southwards entering a floodplain and flowing among a very marshy area dotted with lakes. The Dzhagdy Range (russian: Хребет Джагды) is a range of mountains in far North-eastern Russia. Administratively it belongs partly to Amur Oblast and partly to the Khabarovsk Krai of the Russian Federation. Geography The Dzhagdy is a range in northeastern Siberia, located in the northeast of Amur Oblast and the western side of Khabarovsk Krai. It is part of the Yankan - Tukuringra - Soktakhan - Dzhagdy group of mountain ranges (which also includes the Turan Range), being the easternmost of the group. Silver Carp
The silver carp (''Hypophthalmichthys molitrix'') is a species of freshwater cyprinid fish, a variety of Asian carp native to China and eastern Siberia, from the Amur River drainage in the north to the Xi Jiang River drainage in the south. Although a threatened species in its natural habitat, it has long been cultivated in China. By weight, more silver carp are produced worldwide in aquaculture than any other species of fish except for the grass carp. Silver carp are usually farmed in polyculture with other Asian carp, or sometimes with catla or other fish species. The species has also been introduced, or spread by connected waterways, to at least 88 countries around the world. Siberian taimen (''Hucho taimen''), also known as the common taimen (russian: Обыкнове́нный тайме́нь, Obyknovénnyĭ taĭménʹ), Siberian giant trout or Siberian salmon, is a species of salmon-like ray-finned fish from the genus ''Hucho'' in the family Salmonidae. These fish are found in rivers in Siberia and adjacent regions, and are harvested throughout the year. Amur Pike
The Amur pike (''Esox reichertii''), also known as the blackspotted pike, is a pike native to the Amur River system in east Asia, as well as freshwater habitat on the island of Sakhalin. Closely related to the northern pike, it reaches a length of , a weight of , sporting a silvery body with small, black spots. Like other pike, this species is prized for sport fishing. It is not commonly found outside its native range. However, it was introduced to Glendale Lake, Cambria County, Pennsylvania (United States), by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) in 1968. The lake is just south of the native range of the northern pike. Pure Amur pike were last spawned in 1971. All of the Pennsylvania Fish Commission's brood stock was lost in the summer of 1976.
