Nongshim Co., Ltd. () is a South Korean food and beverage company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. Nongshim was founded in 1965 under the name Lotte Food Industrial Company. The name was changed to Nongshim in 1978. The current logo was published in 1991, which took a form of a seed. In 2003, the business switched to a holding company system and became a subsidiary of Nongshim Holdings. Nongshim is the largest instant noodles and snack company in South Korea. At the end of 2015, Nongshim had 2.57 trillion won in assets and 2.81 trillion won in sales. It runs 11 factories worldwide, has subsidiaries in Korea and overseas, and operates in more than 100 countries. The company is currently chaired by Shin Dong-won, son of the founder Shin Choon-ho. Shin Ramyun
Shin Ramyun is a brand of instant noodle (including cup ramyeon) that has been produced by the South Korean food company Nongshim since 1 October 1986. It is now exported to over 100 countries, and is the best-selling instant noodle brand in South Korea. Shin Ramyun, well known for its spicy flavor, is produced in at least four varieties: the original Shin Ramyun and Shin Ramyun Black, which was introduced in 2011 as well as Super Spicy, which was released in 2019, and, finally, a shrimp flavor that is only available in China. A standard package of Shin Ramyun consists of noodles, a packet of flavoring powder (soup base), and a packet of vegetable flakes. Nongshim RedForce ( ko, 농심 레드포스) is a South Korean professional ''League of Legends'' team owned by food and beverage company Nongshim. The team's name and logo are a reference to Nongshim's popular instant noodle brand Shin Ramyun. Shin Choon-ho
Shin Choon-ho (; December 1930 – 27 March 2021) was a South Korean businessman who founded Nongshim. Biography Shin was born in December 1930 in Ulju County, Ulsan, Korea and was the third eldest son in the family. His older brother Shin Kyuk-ho was the founder of South Korean conglomerate Lotte Corporation. He graduated from Dong-A University in Busan in 1958 after serving as a police officer. He moved to Japan to help his brother with Lotte's confectionery business shortly afterwards. Shin founded Lotte Industrial Company, his own business separate from the existing company, in 1965 to focus on the ramyeon business. In 1978, he renamed the company Nongshim, which means "farmer’s heart," after his brother objected to his proposal to produce instant noodles. Chapagetti
Chapagetti ( ko, 짜파게티) is a brand of ramyeon produced by Nongshim. It was first released in South Korea on March 19, 1984. Chapagetti is the first instant noodle product to resemble jajangmyeon in South Korea and is the second highest-selling brand of instant noodles in South Korea, behind Shin Ramyun. Its name is a portmanteau of jajangmyeon (which is also romanized as ''chajangmyŏn'') and spaghetti. In 2012, sales of Chapagetti reached 159.5 billion won with 88% of market share. Neoguri (instant Noodle)
Neoguri ( ko, 너구리 lit. Raccoon dog) is a brand of ramyun produced by Nongshim in South Korea since 1982. It is exported to over 80 countries, and is the fourth highest selling brand of noodles in South Korea. It is well known for its thick noodles and its spicy seafood flavour. Ansungtangmyun
Ansungtangmyun (Hangul: 안성탕면; Hanja: 安城湯麵) is a brand of ramyeon produced by Nongshim in South Korea since 1983, and is the third highest-selling brand of noodles in South Korea. It is made with beef stock from cows in Anseong. In 1992, V Anseongtangmyeon and in 1996, Shrimp Anseongtang-myeon was launched. On June 22, 2005, Anseongtang noodles bowl made of pop-shaped container noodles was released, but it was discontinued due to sluggish sales, and 66g Anseongtang noodles cup was released on September 11, 2010.
