Nongchanai Prinyathawat
Nongchanai Prinyathawat (; 1921–2014) was a Thai novelist. She was born on 9 May 1921 in Chaiyaphum. She earned a bachelor's degree in law from Thammasat University. She was a professor in the Faculty of Arts at Chulalongkorn University. Nongchanai wrote around 50 novels, over 10 children's novels, as well as short stories and poems. Many of her novels were made into television series and films. She often used the pen name Kanchana Nakhanan ( th, กาญจนา นาคนันทน์). Her first long novel was ''Sam Darun'', published in 1946. Her 1965 romance novel of Thai rural life, ''Poo Yai Lee Gub Nang Ma'', is one of the most famous novels in Thailand. The novel was made into a film and television dramas seven times between 1971 and 2009. Chaiyaphum
Chaiyaphum ( th, ชัยภูมิ, ) is a town (''thesaban mueang'') in northeastern Thailand, capital of Chaiyaphum Province. it had a population of 58,350, and covers the full ''tambon'' Nai Mueang of Mueang Chaiyaphum District. Chaiyaphum is 337 road kilometres northeast of Bangkok. As of 2021, there are wild elephants in the town. Geography Chaiyaphum lies on the Khorat plateau at elevation. The land in the immediate vicinity of the city is flat, but the Phetchabun Mountains rise to the west. Climate Chaiyaphum has a tropical savanna climate (Köppen climate classification ''Aw''). Chulalongkorn University (CU, th, จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย, ), nicknamed Chula ( th, จุฬาฯ), is a public and autonomous research university in Bangkok, Thailand. National Artist (Thailand)
The National Artist ( th, ศิลปินแห่งชาติ, , ) is a title given annually by the Office of the National Culture Commission of Thailand, recognizing notable Thai artists in the area of intangible cultural heritage such as literature, fine arts, visual arts, applied arts (architecture, design) and performing arts (Thai dance, international dance, puppetry, shadow play, Thai music, international music, drama and film). Since 1985, the honors have been presented on 24 February, "National Artist Day", in Thailand. The date was chosen because it is the birthdate of Buddha Loetla Nabhalai, or King Rama II, who was an artist himself.
