''Non Zero Sumness'' is the debut album released by Planet Funk, also released a limited edition version of the album called ''Non Zero Sumness Plus One'', containing the bonus track "One Step Closer" sung by Jim Kerr, which is a vocal version of the instrumental "Where Is the Max". Track 11 has a hidden track, entitled "Rosa Blu", which begins at the 7:05 marker. Planet Funk
Planet Funk is an Italian electronic band. The group is composed of Marco Baroni, Domenico "GG" Calipari, Alex Neri, Dan Black and formerly Sergio Della Monica who died in February 2018. In addition a number of guest vocalists joined the group, including: Auli Kokko, Sally Doherty, Raiz, John Graham, Giuliano Sangiorgi and Alex Uhlmann. History Their first single, " Chase the Sun", reached number five on the UK Singles Chart in 2001. The melody is borrowed from Ennio Morricone's tune "Alla Luce Del Giorno", off the score of the 1969 film Metti, una sera a cena. The song has enjoyed a rise in popularity ever since Sky Sports began using it during its coverage of the Professional Darts Corporation's major tournaments. The crowds in the venues are encouraged to chant and rave to the song during the advert breaks of matches, and the song has a cult following amongst darts fans. Alex Neri
Alex Neri (born in Sarzana, Italy, on June 16, 1970) is a DJ, producer and songwriter. Biography A founding member of Planet Funk, having formed the band in the late 90s, Alex Neri also pursued a solo career and established an independent record label named Tenax Recordings. He started his career playing at the Alhambra, a nightclub in Sarzana owned by his father. Neri began his studio activity collaborating with Marco Baroni and working on different productions such as the Korda project ('Move Your Body') and Kamasutra ('Storm In My Soul'), all while releasing remixed productions for artists such as Club Freaks, Annette Taylor, Future Force, Instant Funk and Jestofunk. In 1998 Neri and Baroni launched their first single 'Happiness' featuring Jocelyn Brown, which reached 5th place on dance charts in the US and 45th place in the UK. Daniel Black (born 16 November 1975) is an English singer-songwriter and vocalist. He was a member of alternative rock band The Servant (band), the Servant, before their split in 2007. He is also a vocalist for the Italian British group Planet Funk. After releasing his breakthrough song "HYPNTZ", he signed to The:Hours, releasing his first two singles – "Alone" and "Yours" – in 2008. Michael Thompson (born Michael Wood Thompson, February 11, 1954 in Port Washington, New York) is an American guitarist and songwriter. Thompson is known for his work as a session guitarist during the last 4 decades. He founded the rock group TRW in 2007. Early years Michael Thompson grew up in Port Washington, New York and attended Berklee College of Music for two years, studying with Pat Metheny before leaving to tour and record with a local R&B/funk group called The Ellis Hall Group. Simon Hanson
Simon Hanson is an English drummer, songwriter and producer. He was the former drummer of Death in Vegas and is the current drummer of British band Squeeze (band), Squeeze. Early life Hanson's father and sister both died in a plane crash in 1983. Career In 1985, Hanson formed the band Shot, which was signed by IRS records. However nothing was ever released. He was then spotted by a member of the band The Blessing (rock band), The Blessing and joined them on tours. Together they signed with MCA Records and recorded Locusts and Wild Honey.
