Nolan Sisters (album)
''Nolan Sisters'' is a 1979 album by the Irish sibling pop group the Nolan Sisters. It was their first album to be released on Epic Records and contained a mixture of original material (composed for the group by Ben Findon, Mike Myers, and Robert Puzey) and cover versions of popular songs. Two singles, "Spirit Body and Soul" and " I'm In the Mood for Dancing", were released from the album, the latter becoming the group's best-known song, peaking at No.3 in the UK, while the former was also a top 40 hit. The release of that single also marked a group name change to the Nolans. The album entered the UK chart in January 1980 and peaked at number 15. It remained on the chart for 13 weeks. In Japan, the album was released under the name ''Dancing Sisters''. The album cover included, as well as the then line-up, Coleen Nolan, who became an official member of the group after Anne left the group in 1980. Daniel Earl Hartman (December 8, 1950 – March 22, 1994) was an American rock musician, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. Among songs he wrote and recorded were " Free Ride" as a member of the Edgar Winter Group, and the solo hits "Relight My Fire", "Instant Replay", "I Can Dream About You", "We Are the Young" and " Second Nature". "I Can Dream About You", his most successful song, reached No. 6 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in 1984 and No. 12 on the UK Singles Chart in 1985. Anne Nolan
Anne Nolan (born 12 November 1950) is an Irish singer, songwriter and author. She is best known for being a member of The Nolans. Biography Early life Anne Nolan was born in Dublin, Ireland, to Tommy (26 September 1925–1998) and Maureen Nolan (15 December 1926–30 December 2007), she is the second of eight siblings and the oldest of the Nolan sisters, preceding Denise, Maureen, Linda, Bernie, and Coleen respectively, as well as two brothers Tommy and Brian. The family lived in Raheny, a suburb of Dublin, before moving to Blackpool, England in 1962. The Nolans Anne, along with her sisters, was a part of the singing group The Nolans. Maureen Nolan
The Nolans are an Anglo-Irish girl group who formed in Blackpool in 1974 as the Nolan Sisters, before changing their name in 1980. Often referred to as Ireland's ''First Family of Music'', they were the first Irish performing family to achieve international success, preceding the likes of the Corrs. Linda Nolan
Linda Nolan (born 23 February 1959) is an Irish singer, actress and television personality. After moving with her family to Blackpool, at the age of three in 1962, she attained fame as a member of the girl group The Nolans in 1974, along with her sisters Anne, Denise, Maureen, Bernie and Coleen. As a member of the Nolans, she toured with Frank Sinatra in 1975, won the Tokyo Music Festival in 1981, and had seven UK top 20 hits between 1979 and 1982. Bernie Nolan
Bernadette Therese Nolan (17 October 1960 – 4 July 2013) was an Irish actress, singer and television personality, formerly lead vocalist of the girl group the Nolans. She was the second youngest of sisters Anne, Denise, Maureen, Linda and Coleen. From the age of two, she was brought up in Blackpool, Lancashire, England. Björn Kristian Ulvaeus (; born 25 April 1945) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, producer, a member of the musical group ABBA, and co-composer of the musicals ''Chess'', '' Kristina från Duvemåla'', and '' Mamma Mia!'' Göran Bror Benny Andersson (; born 16 December 1946) is a Swedish musician, singer, composer and producer best known as a member of the musical group ABBA and co-composer of the musicals ''Chess'', '' Kristina från Duvemåla'', and '' Mamma Mia!'' Wilbur H. "Will" Jennings (born June 27, 1944) is an American lyricist. He is popularly known for writing the lyrics for the songs "Tears in Heaven" and "My Heart Will Go On". He has been inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and has won several awards including three Grammy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and two Academy Awards. Richard Kerr (songwriter)
Richard Buchanan Kerr (born 14 December 1944) is an English singer-songwriter and composer, who co-wrote " Mandy", "Looks Like We Made It" and " Somewhere in the Night" (all of which became hit singles for Barry Manilow) and " I'll Never Love This Way Again", for Dionne Warwick. Career Kerr began his education at Bedford School. After gaining an interest in music at school he went into songwriting. In the UK, he collaborated with musicians in the late 1960s and early 1970s such as Peter Green, Don Partridge and Scott English. The latter pairing resulted in the song " Brandy", which English released in 1971.
