Noknoi Uraiporn
Noknoi Uraiporn () (b. 11 October 1957 —) is a famous Thai Luk thung and Mor lam singer. She is the leader of Mor lam band, Sieang Isan (เสียงอีสาน). She has many popular songs including "Nok Jaa", "Loei Wela Kid Hid", "Mon Phleng Sieng Isan", "Phab Tay Winyan Rak", etc. Early life Noknoi was born on 10 October 1957 in Sisaket Province and named Urai Sihawong at birth. She is the daughter of Som and Phan Sihawong. Career She started performing in 1970 in a contest. She appeared in many music contests, and often won. After that, she became popular and joined Mor lam band "Phetpinthong" presented by Nophadon Duangporn. In 1975, she released "Nok Ja" and took the stage name Noknoi Uraiporn. She left Phetpinthong in 1975, and married Maiyakit Chimluang. After that, she founded a Mor Iam band by herself named Sieng Isan. This failed due to lack of performance in a show. Mor lam ( Lao: ໝໍລຳ; Thai/Isan: หมอลำ ; ) is a traditional Lao form of song in Laos and Isan. ''Mor lam'' means 'expert song', or 'expert singer', referring to the music or artist respectively. Other romanisations used include mor lum, maw lam, maw lum, moh lam, mhor lum, and molum. In Laos, the music is known simply as lam (ລຳ); mor lam (ໝໍລຳ) refers to the singer. The characteristic feature of ''lam'' singing is the use of a flexible melody tailored to the tones of the words in the text. Traditionally, the tune was developed by the singer as an interpretation of a '' klon'' poem and accompanied primarily by the ''khene'' (a free reed mouth organ). The modern form is frequently composed and uses electrified instruments. Poyfai Malaiporn (also spelled Poifai and Poifhai, , , born 14 January 1971 in Fao Rai District, Nong Khai Province, Thailand) is a Thai luk thung and mor lam singer. Saeng-arun Bunyu () is a Thai female singer from Isan area. She was one of the popular and prolific artists in the Mor lam (Thai country) and Luk thung (Thai pop-country) genres between 1994–2009. She was a member of Mor lam band Sieng Isan (เสียงอีสาน). Life and music career She has a nickname Tong (ต๋อง), but Sieng Isan's fan club call her Orn (อร).
