Noel Sheehy
Noel Sheehy (Nollaig Mac an tSíthigh) (born 5 December 1964) is an Irish retired hurler. His league and championship career with the Tipperary senior team lasted twelve seasons from 1985 to 1997. Sheehy first appeared for the Sivermines club at juvenile and underage levels, before eventually joining the club's adult team. After winning five divisional intermediate championship medals, he ended his club career by winning a county intermediate championship medal in 1999. Sheehy made his debut on the inter-county scene when he was selected for the Tipperary minor team. He enjoyed two championship seasons with the minor team, culminating with the winning of an All-Ireland medal in 1982. Sheehy subsequently joined the under-21 team, winning an All-Ireland medal in 1985. He subsequently joined the Tipperary senior team, making his debut during the 1985-86 league. 1987 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 1987 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 101st staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county hurling tournament. The championship began on 24 May 1987 and ended on 6 September 1987. Cork were the defending champions but were defeated by Tipperary in the Munster final. Kerry fielded a team in the provincial championship for the first time since 1978. On 6 September 1987, Galway won the championship following a 1-12 to 0-9 defeat of Kilkenny in the 100th All-Ireland final. This was their third All-Ireland title, their first in seven championship seasons. Tipperary's Pat Fox was the championship's top scorer with 3-45. GAA GPA All Stars Awards
The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. Since 2011 they have been presented jointly by the Gaelic Athletic Association and the representative body for inter-county players, the Gaelic Players Association. The 1982 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 52nd staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. Kilkenny GAA, Kilkenny entered the championship as the 1981 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, defending champions, however, they were beaten by Galway GAA, Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final.
