Corney Cook
Corney is a small settlement in Cumbria, England, and located in the west of the Lake District. It is near the A595 road, in the civil parish of Waberthwaite and it is located north east of Bootle and is 10 miles north of Millom. The name is well known to travellers who take the fell road from Duddon Bridge to Ravenglass, as this route is known as the "Corney Fell Road". It is possible to see the Isle of Man, North Wales and parts of Scotland from Corney on a clear day. Corney is home to a predominantly agricultural community. DeForest Covan
DeForest Covan (September 9, 1917 - September 8, 2007) was an American actor, dancer, and former black vaudeville performer. From his first film appearance in 1936, in ''The Singing Kid'', his acting career stretched to the 1990s. In early 1978, he appeared in two episodes of the TV series, Good Times. First, as Reverend Beasley in the episode, "Something Old, Something New", and again as the character, Shorty, in the episode titled, "Write On, Thelma". Louise Franklin, nicknamed Beau and Bo, was a dancer and actress in the United States during the 1930s through 50s. Mildred Boyd
Mildred Boyd (1908-1999) was an actress, a singer, and a dancer who was active in Hollywood from the 1920s through the 1950s. Like many Black actresses of her era, she was often cast as a maid or a nurse. Biography Boyd was born in Kingston, Tennessee, to Creed Boyd and Rachel Finley. The family moved to Nebraska soon after she was born. Boyd relocated to Los Angeles as a young adult, where she found work a chorus girl at Frank Sebastian's Cotton Club, a popular Black nightclub in Culver City. She was part of a group known as the Creole Cuties. Around the same time, she began appearing in Hollywood films, working regularly throughout the 1930s and 1940s. George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron (22 January 1788 – 19 April 1824), known simply as Lord Byron, was an English romantic poet and peer.
