''No Place Like Brooklyn'' (stylized as ''No Place Like BKLYN'') is the first album recorded by the singer Jeannie Ortega, released by Hollywood Records on August 1, 2006. The album includes the singles "It's R Time" and "Crowded". "No Place Like BKLYN" is Jeannie's only album from Hollywood Records. She was eventually dropped by Hollywood Records in 2007. Jeannie eventually released her Christian albums "Perfect Love" and "Love Changed Me" through AIC Records. "Perfect Love" was released on January 30, 2012. Jeannette "Jeannie" Ortega (born November 19, 1986) is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, writer, and journalist. She made her recording debut in 2006 with the album ''No Place Like BKLYN'' at the age of 19. The album featured the hit single "Crowded", which reached the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Biography Jeannie Ortega was born in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York and is of Puerto Rican descent. While attending Brooklyn High School of the Arts, Ortega's song "Got What It Takes" was placed on the soundtrack for the 2003 comedy '' Love Don't Cost a Thing'', and the song "Future Is Clear" appeared on the TV show soundtrack for '' That's So Raven!''. Shamele Mackie (born March 5, 1978), known professionally as Papoose (), is an American rapper. Well known for his freestyles and prolific mixtape output, Papoose has released four studio albums and 29 mixtapes since 1998. Born in New York, he began rapping in the 1990s, making his first appearance on Kool G Rap's 1998 album ''Roots of Evil''. Papoose produced and distributed his own mixtapes during the early 2000s, eventually signing a $1.5 million contract with Jive Records.
