No Man's Woman (album)
''No Man's Woman'' or ''No Man's Woman: Tribute to Women in Voice'' is a tribute album to female musicians by various Australian male musicians performing cover versions to recognise the contributions that female artists have made to the international music industry. It was released in Australia on 20 October 2007 via Dew Process, and was introduced to radio on 17 September of the same year. ''No Man's Woman'' peaked in the top 50 of the ARIA Albums Chart. History ''No Man's Woman'' was developed out of a desire by fans to hear Australian rock group You Am I perform a cover of a Patti Smith song. While that group did not contribute to the tribute album, the wish from music fans was the basis for its formulation, which was released on Australia's Dew Process record label. It was named for Sinéad O'Connor's track of that name from her June 2000 album, ''Faith and Courage''; however that track is not covered for this tribute. The Vines (band)
The Vines are an Australian Rock music, rock band formed in Sydney in 1994. Their sound has been described as a musical hybrid of 1960s garage rock and 1990s alternative rock. The band has been through several line-up changes, with vocalist/guitarist Craig Nicholls serving as the sole constant throughout the band's history. The Vines' success in the Australian recording industry resulted in winning the ARIA Award for Breakthrough Artist – Single for "Get Free (The Vines song), Get Free" and receiving five other nominations for their debut album ''Highly Evolved'', plus two further nominations in subsequent years. Hanging On The Telephone
"Hanging on the Telephone" is a song written by Jack Lee. The song was released in 1976 by his short-lived US West Coast power pop band The Nerves; in 1978, it was recorded and released as a single by American new wave band Blondie. Blondie had discovered the song via a cassette tape compilation which Jeffrey Lee Pierce had given the band. Beginning with a phone sound-effect courtesy of producer Mike Chapman, Blondie's version of the song was released on the band's breakthrough third album, ''Parallel Lines''. The single was a top five hit in the UK and has since seen critical acclaim as one of the band's best songs. End of Fashion are an Australian pop rock band from Perth, Western Australia. Lucinda Gayle Williams (born January 26, 1953) is an American singer-songwriter and a solo guitarist. Bob Evans (musician)
Kevin Edward Mitchell (born 1 October 1977), also known by the stage name of Bob Evans, is an Australian singer-songwriter; Mitchell uses the name for his primary solo project. He is also the founding lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the alternative rock band Jebediah, which was formed in 1994 and features his older brother Brett Mitchell, who joined on drums before the group's first performance. Jebediah released five studio albums between 1997 and 2011, the first three of which entered the top ten on the ARIA Albums Chart. Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band, formed in London in 1967. Fleetwood Mac were founded by guitarist Peter Green, drummer Mick Fleetwood and guitarist Jeremy Spencer, before bassist John McVie joined the line-up for their eponymous debut album. Lior Attar, better known simply as Lior, is an independent Australian singer-songwriter based in Melbourne. He is best known for his 2005 debut studio album ''Autumn Flow'' and for the song "Hoot's Lullaby".
