Dan O'Mahony
Dan O'Mahony (born October 2, 1967) is a musician, writer, and political activist from Orange County, California, USA. He is currently the West Coast Chairman of the .99 Advocacy Fund and Point nine nine. Music In the 1980s, O'Mahony was the lead singer for hardcore straight edge band No For An Answer (NFAA). The band is credited with being one of the cornerstones of the straight edge movement on the west coast and was the first west coast release by the prominent independent label Revelation Records. Later O'Mahony recorded records as the lead singer of bands such as Carry Nation, Voicebox, Speak 714, John Henry Holiday, God Forgot, and 411, which released the album This Isn't Me in 1991. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Focused was a hardcore punk band that originated out of Long Beach, California in 1991, with a Christian hardcore style. The band broke up in 1996, but reunited briefly in 2009. History Focused began in 1991, created by Tim Mann on vocals, John Schoettler on rhythm guitar, Matt Archuletta on bass, and Jeff Boetto (No For An Answer, Half-Off), on lead guitar. The band played their first song live at a local talent show without an official drummer and asked their friend David Shoemaker to fill-in for that one night. Uniform Choice (formerly known as Moral Sin) was an American hardcore punk band from Orange County, California. History Uniform Choice was started by guitarist Myke Bates, bassist Hanson Meyer and drummer Eric Hanna during the Spring of 1982 in Newport Beach, California. Bates had been playing with a couple of bands previously in Palm Springs and his band, Funeral Information, had played early punk shows with SIN 34 and Black Flag (band), Black Flag. He is also credited for writing the song "Rodney On The ROQ" for KROQ-FM DJ Rodney Bingenheimer, which was performed by Target 13 and appeared on the compilation album ''Rodney on the ROQ, Vol 2'' under the independent record label Posh Boy Records.
