"No Controles" is a song written by Nacho Cano, and recorded and released by the Spanish band Olé Olé in 1983. The song translates as "Don't Control" in English, referring to a series of life choices that could possibly be controlled such as 'mi forma de pensar...vestir', "the way I think or dress". History The song was first made popular in Spain and Europe in 1983 by the band Olé Olé, with Vicky Larraz on vocals. In Latin America, particularly in Mexico, the song was made popular by the band Flans in 1985. Nacho Cano gave them the song because they were good friends. Later made popular by child Venezuelan band Payasitas Nifu Nifa, on their album ''Las Payasitas Ni Fu Ni Fa'' in 1995. It was later made popular by Mexico's Café Tacuba on their album of covers ''Avalancha de Éxitos'' in 1996. Olé Olé (band)
Olé Olé was a popular Spanish band of the 1980s. The group went through three phases of popularity broadly coinciding with three female vocalists. The group began with singer Vicky Larraz (1982–1985). After Larraz went solo came Marta Sánchez (1986–1991) in years that saw increasing success in Latin America. After Sánchez also went solo came the third singer :es:Sonia Santana (1992–1993). The beginnings of the group: Vicky Larraz 1982–1985 The story of Olé Olé began in 1982, when the CBS label decided to create a new techno-pop group in the Mecano line. The one in charge of choosing the members was Argentine producer Jorge Álvarez, who also produced the first Mecano records. Flans
Flans are an all-female Mexican music group, which enjoyed popularity from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s. Its members were the singers Ivonne Margarita Guevara García, Ilse María Olivo Schweinfurth and Irma Angélica Hernández Ochoa. They were generally known as Ivonne, Ilse, and Mimí. Career Beginnings The three girls were initially cast in the mid-1980s for a TV show to be called ''Fans'', which was to feature chats and sing-alongs with guest stars. Edurne García Almagro (; born 22 December 1985) is a Spanish singer, actress, and television presenter. She rose to fame in late 2005 when she took part in the Spanish casting show ''Operación Triunfo'' on TVE and finished in sixth place in 2006. Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar
''Hoy no me puedo levantar'' (''Today I Can't Get up'') is a Spanish jukebox musical, with music and lyrics by José María Cano and Nacho Cano, former members of the band Mecano. Based on 32 of the band's greatest hits and named after their first single, the musical centers on a pair of impoverished musicians trying to be part of La Movida Madrileña, after the fall of Francisco Franco's dictatorship. Through an analysis of the 1980s, the musical portrays the condition of these boys trying to survive in Madrid, under the shadow of drugs and AIDS. The musical ran for four seasons in Madrid's Rialto Theatre (former ''Movistar Theatre'') and for three seasons in Mexico City's Centro Cultural Telmex and Teatro Aldama. Avalancha de Éxitos (in Spanish: ''Avalanche of Hits'') is Café Tacuba's third album. In 1996, two years after their acclaimed ''Re'', the band had amassed enough new music to fill four CDs, but couldn't winnow it down to a single album. So instead, they covered eight songs by other Spanish-speaking artists, who ranged from totally obscure to well-known.
