Mambury Njie (born 27 June 1962) is a Gambian politician and the current Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs in Adama Barrow's cabinet. Education In 1986, Njie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania in the United States. In 1993, he completed a master of arts in international affairs at Columbia University, New York. Fatou Mass Jobe-Njie
Fatou Mass Jobe-Njie is a Gambian politician who served as Minister of Tourism and Culture from 2010 to 2014 and ambassador to Malaysia from 2014 to 2015. Early life and education Jobe-Njie is from Serekunda. Her father died when she was young and her mother died a few years later. Jobe-Njie and her siblings were raised by their uncle. She attended Serre-Kunda primary school and St. Joseph's High School. Jobe-Njie has an MBA from the University of Wolverhampton. Baboucarr Njie (born 5 June 1995) is a Gambian footballer who currently plays for USL Championship club Phoenix Rising FC. Career Njie played college soccer at North Carolina Wesleyan College for two consecutive seasons, skipping 2018 and returning for his junior year in 2019. During his time with the Battling Bishops, Njie made 57 appearances, scoring 34 goals and tallying 19 assists. Adama Njie
Adama Njie (or N'Jie; born 7 February 1978) is a retired Gambian middle-distance runner who specialised in the 800 metres. She represented her country in three Olympic Games and one Commonwealth Games, and was the flag-bearer for the Gambia at the 2000 Summer Olympics. 1996 At the 1996 African Championships in Athletics, aged 18, Njie won a bronze medal in the women's 800 metres (with a time of 2:10.10). She was the first Gambian runner to win a medal at the championships for an individual performance, as the country's only other medal had come in the 4 × 100 metres relay (at the 1984 event). A few weeks after her medal at the African Championships, Njie was a member of the nine-athlete Gambian delegation at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, as the only female competitor for her country. Isatou Njie-Saidy
Isatou Njie-Saidy (also spelt Aisatu N'Jie-Saidy) (born 5 March 1952) is a Gambian politician. She was Vice President of the Gambia, as well as Secretary of State for Women's Affairs, from 20 March 1997 to 18 January 2017. She is the first Gambian woman to have held the position of Vice President and one of the first women in West African politics to reach this senior position. Bilal Elmi Njie (born 13 June 1998) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a winger for Eliteserien club Haugesund. Bilal is the younger brother of Moussa Njie. The Wolof people () are a West African ethnic group found in northwestern Senegal, the Gambia, and southwestern coastal Mauritania. In Senegal, the Wolof are the largest ethnic group (~43.3%), while elsewhere they are a minority.
