Nizam Sagar Dam is an Indian dam named after the Nizam of Hyderabad. It is a reservoir (water), reservoir constructed across the Manjira River, a tributary of the Godavari River, between Achampet, Nizamabad, Achampet and BanjePally villages of the Kamareddy district in Telangana, India. It is located at about north-west of Hyderabad, India, Hyderabad. Nizam Sagar is the oldest dam in the state of Telangana. Manjira River
The Manjara, also spelled Manjara or Manjeera, is a tributary of the river Godavari. It passes through the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana. It originates in the Balaghat range of hills near Ahmednagar district at an altitude of 823 metres (2,700 ft) and empties into the Godavari River. It has a total catchment area of . Description The river's origin is near the Gaukhadi Village of Beed district. The river flows from the northern boundaries of the Osmanabad district and cutting across the Latur district goes to the Bidar district in Karnataka State and finally Telangana. Soil salinity control relates to controlling the problem of soil salinity and reclaiming salinized agricultural land. The aim of soil salinity control is to prevent soil degradation by salination and reclamation of already salty (saline) soils. Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal
Government of India constituted a common tribunal on 10 April 1969 to adjudicate the river water utilization disputes among the river basin states of Krishna River, Krishna and Godavari River, Godavari rivers under the provisions of Interstate River Water Disputes Act – 1956.
