Niuma
''Niuma'' is a 2010 Maldivian drama film directed by Niuma Mohamed. Produced by Mohamed Abdulla under Dhekedheke Ves Production, the film stars Niuma Mohamed, Yoosuf Shafeeu, Ahmed Nimal, Mohamed Manik, and Sheela Najeeb in pivotal roles. The film was released on 25 October 2010. The entire production was shot in B. Goidhoo. Plot Nizam (Mohamed Manik), a photographer, has a perversion which makes him sexually attracted to his sister. His younger brother Nihan (Yoosuf Shafeeu) helps their father Nizar (Ahmed Nimal) with his business. Nizar's only daughter, Niuma (Niuma Mohamed), is a reticent girl who doesn't talk often. Nihan's friend Shiyaz ( Abdulla Muaz) tries to befriend Niuma. Her mother, Wafiyya (Aminath Rasheedha), disapproves of Niuma talking to Shiyaz. Niuma Mohamed
Niuma Mohamed (pronounced ; 20 October 1977) is a Maldivian film actress, director, and producer. The highest-paid actress in Maldives, Mohamed is the recipient of several awards, including two Gaumee Film Awards, and four Maldives Film Awards. She holds the record for collecting all three Maldives Film Awards for Best Actress in a feature film. In 2011, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Mohamed was born in Vaadhoo and raised in Male'. After completing eight years of standard education, she dropped out of school and joined a taxi centre where a customer, a producer of Television Maldives, offered her to make her career debut with the drama series '' Hithi Thajuribaa'' (1994). Yoosuf Shafeeu
Yoosuf Shafeeu also known as Eupe (20 October 1975) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, writer, and director. One of the most successful filmmakers and actors in Maldivian Cinema, Shafeeu is the recipient of a number of awards, including eight Gaumee Film Awards, and a Maldives Film Award; ; holding the record of collecting maximum Gaumee Film Award for Best Actor. Mohamed Manik
Mohamed Manik (15 October 1969) is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career 2002–10: Critical acclaim and breakthrough Manik rose to widespread prominence in the television industry and was applauded for his performance in a dual role, Ahmed Ayaz and Mohamed Adheel, in the Abdul Faththaah-directed critically acclaimed television series, '' Thiyey Mihithuge Vindhakee'' (2003) which was considered as one of the best series production in television industry. Sheela Najeeb (born 7 September 1974) is a Maldivian film actress. She has established a career in Maldivian Film Industry and is the recipient of several awards, one Gaumee Film Awards and two Maldivian Film Awards. She made her screen debut alongside Junaid in a music video "Nudhaashey Magey Loabivaa" and featured in several films afterwards. Aminath Rasheedha (born 27 February 1967) is a Maldivian actress and director. Career 1993–2006: Early releases and directorial debut In 1995, Rasheedha appeared in Mohamed Shiyaz's '' Dhushman'' which features Hussain Sobah, Mariyam Nisha and Hamid Ali in pivotal roles. Ahmed Nimal is a Maldivian actor, director, editor, writer and producer. Early life Prior to acting in films, Nimal worked at Maldives Meteorological Service office. His interest in films and acting grew due to the influence of his colleagues including Easa Shareef and other friends who actively take part in theatre plays. Career Nimal made his career debut with ''Nufoozu'' (1984), an initiation by Shareef and his colleagues. Initially assigned to work behind the camera, Shareef requested him to star in the lead role of the film due to a date conflict of the original actor who was offered the role first.
