Ninth Belgrade Gymnasium
The IX Gymnasium "Mihailo Petrović-Alas" ( sr, Девета гимназија "Михајло Петровић-Алас", Deveta gimnazija "Mihailo Petrović-Alas") is a gymnasium located in New Belgrade, Serbia, established in 1961, and named after the Serbian mathematician Mihailo Petrović-Alas. Public reputation The school has a reputation of being very academically demanding, with high entry standards: for example, in 2005, an applicant needed a score of at least 96 out of 100 points on the Serbian High school examination to enroll in the school, the highest score of any high school in Belgrade that year. The school has earned an excellent reputation over many decades and has been called a ''philosophical school'' since Đinđić's schooldays because of its liberal-humanistic atmosphere. New Belgrade
New Belgrade ( sr, / , ) is a municipality of the city of Belgrade. It is a planned city, built since 1948 in a previously uninhabited area on the left bank of the Sava river, opposite old Belgrade. Vanja Bulić (Serbian Cyrillic: Вања Булић; born 17 July 1947) is a Serbian journalist and author. He has lived in Belgrade since 1952. The Zemun Gymnasium ( sr, Земунска гимназија, Zemunska gimnazija) is the most prominent gymnasium in Belgrade, Serbia. It is located in Belgrade’s Zemun municipality. Founded in 1858, it's Belgrade second oldest, after the First Belgrade Gymnasium (founded in 1839), and Serbia's sixth oldest gymnasium, after those in Sremski Karlovci (founded in 1791), Novi Sad (founded in 1810), Kragujevac (founded in 1833) and Šabac (founded in 1837). Mihajlo Veruović ( sr-Cyrl, Михајло Веруoвић; born 15 September 2001), better known as Voyage ( sr, Војаж, Vojaž; French for "journey"), is a Serbian rapper and actor. Early life Mihajlo Veruović was born on 15 September 2001 in Belgrade, FR Yugoslavia. He is the son to mother Žana, who is a medical worker, and father Milan Veurović, who served as the bodyguard to Prime Minister of Serbia Zoran Đinđić. Following the 2003 assassination of Đinđić, Veruović fled to Strasbourg, France alongside his family, where he lived until the age of eight. His stage name "" comes from these events. Stefan Arsenijević ( sr-Cyrl, Стефан Арсенијевић; born 11 March 1977 in Belgrade, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Serbian film director and scriptwriter. Ivana Maksimović Anđušić ( sr-cyr, Ивана Максимовић Анђушић ; born 2 May 1990) is a Serbian sport shooter. She represented Serbia at the 2012 Summer Olympics, most notably winning a silver at the Women's 50 metre rifle three positions. Ivana was chosen as 2014 Summer Youth Olympics shooting athlete role model. She was chosen to be the flag bearer for Serbia at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics. Neda Arnerić
Neda Arnerić ( sr-cyr, Неда Арнерић; 15 July 1953 – 10 January 2020) was a Serbian film, stage and television actress, and politician. A graduate art historian, she was considered a sex symbol of Yugoslav cinematography. Personal life Neda Arnerić was born in Knjaževac. Her mother was an ethnic Serb, whilst her father was an ethnic Croat, who worked as military doctor, born on the island of Korčula. Her grandfather was from Rovinj, where she often spent summers. In 1980 she graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philosophy with a degree in Art History. In 1981 she married Serbian physician, Milorad Mešterović, who died in December 2018. Marica Josimčević ( Serbian-Cyrillic: Марица Јосимчевић; born 12 May 1946 in Belgrade, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Serbian writer and translator. Biography Marica Josimčević grew up in his native place, attended the Ninth Belgrade Gymnasium in New Belgrade city quarter and graduated with maturity diploma in 1965, then she began studying Spanish and English languages and literatures at the Philosophical Faculty of Belgrade's University and graduated with diploma in 1969. After her studies, she worked as translator for Aviogenex (1970–73) and Energoprojekt (1973-1980). Igor Rakočević ( sr-cyrl, Игор Ракочевић; born 29 March 1978) is a Serbian professional basketball executive and former player. At a height of 1.94 m (6'4 ") tall, he played at both the point guard and shooting guard positions, but he spent the vast majority of his career playing as a shooting guard. During his playing career, Rakočević was a two-time All-EuroLeague Team member, and a three-time Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer Trophy winner.
