High availability (HA) is a characteristic of a system which aims to ensure an agreed level of operational performance, usually uptime, for a higher than normal period. Modernization has resulted in an increased reliance on these systems. For example, hospitals and data centers require high availability of their systems to perform routine daily activities. Nines are an informal, logarithmic notation for proportions very near to one, or equivalently percentages very near 100%. Their common uses include grading the purity of materials. Put simply, "nines" are the number of consecutive nines in a percentage such as 99% (two nines) or a decimal fraction such as 0.999 (three nines). Rugby league nines (or simply nines) is a version of rugby league football played with nine players on each side. The game is substantially the same as full rugby league, with some differences in rules and shorter games. Nines is usually played in festivals, as its shorter game play allows for a tournament to be completed in a day or over a single weekend. Courtney Leon Freckleton (born 17 January 1990), known professionally as Nines, is a British rapper. After releasing a string of mixtapes between 2012 and 2015, Nines signed to XL Recordings and released his debut album ''One Foot Out'' (2017), which charted at number 4 in the UK Albums Chart. The Nines is a luxury hotel in Portland, Oregon. It is a franchise of The Luxury Collection by Marriott International and is owned by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust. The hotel and dining amenities are managed by Sage Hospitality Resources. Opened in 2008, the hotel occupies the top nine floors of the Meier & Frank Building, this paired with the building's opening date of 1909 gives the hotel its name. The 331-room hotel includes 32 Suite (hotel), suites, making it the sixth largest hotel in Portland based on the number of rooms after Hyatt Regency opened with 600 rooms in 2019. The Applied Research in Patacriticism (ARP) was a digital humanities lab based at the University of Virginia founded and run by Jerome McGann and Johanna Drucker. Cambridge '99 Rowing Club, generally referred to as 'Nines', is based on Kimberley Road in the historic City of Cambridge, UK. Club history Cambridge '99 Rowing Club was formed in 1899 and is the third oldest of the 'Town' clubs in Cambridge.
