Nine (Sault Album)
''Nine'' is the fifth studio album by the British rhythm and blues collective Sault, released on 25 June 2021 on Forever Living Originals. Produced by Inflo, the album was only available on streaming services and as a digital download for 99 days, until 2 October 2021. The album received widespread critical acclaim, appearing on several end-of-year lists and received praise for its diversity of musical genres and styles as well as the lyrics' exploration of the urban black experience. Critical reception The editorial staff of AnyDecentMusic? characterized eight reviews as an 8.2 out of 10. Kitty Empire of ''The Observer'' rated the album five out of five stars, calling ''Nine'' a "masterclass in anger and balm" and praising the spoken-word sections of the release. Sault (artist)
Sault (frequently stylised as SAULT) are a British music collective that make a mixture of R&B, house and disco. The project is helmed by producer Inflo, best known for his work with Little Simz, Michael Kiwanuka, Cleo Sol, Jungle and Adele. Despite critical acclaim, Sault eschew interaction with the media and feature an array of unnamed collaborators. They have never played a live show, given an interview or released a music video in support of their music. They frequently foreground Black-centric issues. Since their emergence in 2019, the collective has released eleven studio albums, with '' 5'' (2019), '' 7'' (2019), ''Untitled (Black Is)'' (2020), '' Untitled (Rise)'' (2020), and ''Nine'' (2021), being released between 2019 and 2021. The Observer
''The Observer'' is a British newspaper published on Sundays. It is a sister paper to ''The Guardian'' and ''The Guardian Weekly'', whose parent company Guardian Media Group Limited acquired it in 1993. Melissa Young (born July 3, 1980), known professionally as Kid Sister, is an American rapper based in Chicago, Illinois. She is known for her single " Pro Nails", which features Kanye West, and for her work as a member of the British music collective Sault. Cleopatra Zvezdana Nikolic (born 24 March 1991), better known by her stage name Cleo Sol, is a British singer-songwriter. Working closely with the producer Inflo, she has released two solo studio albums, ''Rose in the Dark'' (2020) and ''Mother'' (2021), and is a rumoured member of the R&B collective Sault (band), Sault.
