Nils Mjaavatn
Nils Kristian Nilsen Mjaavatn (17 August 1883 – 19 October 1951) was a Norwegian farmer, teacher and politician for the Agrarian Party. He was born in Vefsn as a son of farmers Nils Mjaavatn (1849–1887) and Olianna Mathisen (1850–1947). He attended basic school and folk high school in Vefsn, before graduating from Sandvik Agricultural School in 1906 and Elverum Teachers' College in 1909. He moved back to Vefsn, where he worked as a teacher until 1920. In 1913 he also took over the family farm Mjåvatn. He served as deputy mayor of Vefsn municipal council from 1914 to 1916, mayor from 1920 to 1925 and later councilman for two terms. In 1927 he became a national board member of the Agrarian Party. He was elected to the Parliament of Norway from Nordland in 1927, 1930, 1933 and 1936. The Centre Party ( no, Senterpartiet, Sp; se, Guovddášbellodat), formerly the Farmer's Party ( no, Bondepartiet, Bp), is an agrarian political party in Norway. Ideologically, the Centre Party is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, it advocates for economic nationalist and protectionist policy to protect Norwegian farmers with toll tariffs, and it supports decentralisation. It was founded in 1920 as the Farmers' Party ( no, link=no, Bondepartiet, Bp) and from its founding until 2000, the Centre Party joined only governments not led by the Labour Party, although it had previously supported a Labour government in the 1930s. Norwegian Forest Owners Association
Norwegian Forest Owners Association ( no, Norges Skogeierforbund) is an association representing 43,000 owners of forest in Norway. The main functions of the organisation is to assist the members, who are mostly farmers, to manage their forest. This includes forestry plans, part of the cutting of timer and negotiating agreements with lumber mills and paper mills. The association is one of the 13 agricultural cooperatives in Norway and based in Oslo with 366 local groups and eight district organisations, organised as Selskap med begrenset ansvar, BAs. In 2005 83% of all domestic timber was organised through the association. The eight regional organisations are Havass Skog, Glommen Skog, Mjøsen Skog, Viken Skog, AT Skog, Vestskog, Sogn og Fjordane Skogeigarlag and ALLSKOG.
