Nikolaos Mitrou ( el, Νικόλαος Μήτρου; born 10 July 1984) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Born in Chalcis, Mitrou began his playing career by signing with Panionios F.C. in August 2002. He made 32 appearances in the Greek Super League for the club. Chalcis
Chalcis ( ; Ancient Greek & Katharevousa: , ) or Chalkida, also spelled Halkida (Modern Greek: , ), is the chief town of the island of Euboea or Evia in Greece, situated on the Euripus Strait at its narrowest point. The Super League Greece 1 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λιγκ 1), or Super League 1, is the highest professional association football league in Greece. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders.
