Nikolai Tsonev
; born 9 June 1956) is a Bulgarian officer, entrepreneur, professor[2] and politician from the 2012 – 2022 from party New alternative. From 2008 to 2009 he was Minister of Defense. Biography Nickolay Tsonev was born on 9 June 1956 in Pernik. He graduated Georgi Dimitrov National Military Artillery School, National Military Artillery School "Georgi Dimitrov" specialty "flak" from 1978 is an officer in the Bulgarian People's Army. During the 1986–1989 year studying at military academy in Kiev. In 1992 leaves the army. The Ministry of Defence ( bg, Министерство на отбраната, ''Ministerstvo na otbranata'') of Bulgaria is the ministry charged with regulating the Bulgarian Armed Forces. It is Bulgaria's ministry of defence. Since March 2022 the Minister of Defence is Dragomir Zakov. The present building of the ministry is among the finest examples of the Bulgarian modern architecture from the middle of 20th century. Veselin Bliznakov
Vesselin Bliznakov ( bg, Веселин Близнаков) (born 18 June 1944) is a Bulgarian politician. Bliznakov was born in the town of Straldzha, Yambol Province, and graduated from the Higher Medical Institute in Sofia in 1969. He continued his education with a course of study at the Reserve Officers Training School Gotse Delchev in Vratsa. He completed the course in 1970 and became a reserved officer. In addition in 1981, he submitted a doctor's dissertation in “The Influence of Ionized Rays on the Health of Medical Staff Working in the Environment of Ionized Rays”. Nikolay Evtimov Mladenov ( bg, Николай Евтимов Младенов; born 5 May 1972) is a Bulgarian politician and diplomat who served as Bulgaria's Minister of Defense from 27 July 2009 to 27 January 2010 and as the minister of foreign affairs in the government of then prime minister Boyko Borisov from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, he was a Member of the European Parliament from 2007 to 2009. On 2 August 2013 Mladenov was appointed as United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's Special Representative for Iraq and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq. Pernik ( bg, Перник ) is a town in western Bulgaria (about south-west of Sofia) with a population of 70,285 . Pernik is the most populated town in western Bulgaria after Sofia. It is the main town of Pernik Province and lies on both banks of the Struma River in the Pernik Valley between the Golo Bardo Mountain, Vitosha Mountain, Lyulin and Viskyar mountains.
