Nikolai Pisarev
Nikolai Nikolayevich Pisarev (russian: Николай Николаевич Писарев; born 23 November 1968) is a Russian football manager and a former player. He is an assistant coach with Russia national football team. International career Pisarev played his first game for Russia on 8 March 1995 in a friendly against Slovakia. He scored a goal in the UEFA Euro 1996 qualifier against Faroe Islands. Coaching career On 26 July 2021, he was hired as an assistant to Valeri Karpin in the Russia national football team. On 10 August 2022, Pisarev was hired as a manager by Russian Premier League club Khimki, also keeping his national team position (the national team was banned by FIFA at the time due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine and was not playing any competitive games). Pisarev was dismissed by Khimki on 2 September 2022, after the team lost all four games since his appointment. FC Khimki
FC Khimki (russian: ФК Химки) is a Russian professional football club based in Khimki. The club returned to the Russian Premier League in the 2020–21 season. History The team was formed in 1996 by merging two amateur clubs from Khimki, Rodina, and Novator. Khimki entered the amateur league and played their first official match on 17 May 1997. Of more than 150 amateur teams in the competition, only the champions would be promoted to the Third League. Khimki won the tournament, overcoming Energiya Ulyanovsk in the final match in a penalty shootout. On 30 January 1997, Khimki became a professional football club. UEFA European Under-21 Championship
The UEFA European Under-21 Championship, the UEFA Under-21 Championship or simply the Euro Under-21, is a biennial football competition contested by the European men's under-21 national teams of the UEFA member associations. Since 1992, the competition also serves as the UEFA qualification tournament for the Summer Olympics. Italy and Spain are the most successful teams in this competition, having won five titles each. UEFA Euro 1996 Qualification
Qualifying for UEFA Euro 1996 took place throughout 1994 and 1995. Forty-seven teams were divided into eight groups, with each team playing the others in their group both home and away. The winners of each group and the six best runners-up qualified automatically, while the two worst runners-up were involved in a play-off at a neutral venue. England qualified automatically as hosts of the event. This was the first European Championship qualifying phase in which three points were awarded for each win, as opposed to the two points that had been awarded previously.
