Niko Medved (handball)
Niko Medved (born August 10, 1973) is an American college basketball coach, currently the head men's basketball coach at Colorado State University. Prior to becoming head coach at Colorado State, he was head coach at Drake University and Furman. Early life and education Born in Minneapolis, Medved graduated from Roseville Area High School in nearby Roseville, Minnesota in 1992. In high school, Medved was a letterwinner in basketball and golf. Assistant coach Medved was an assistant coach at Furman from 1999 to 2006. He spent a year as assistant at his alma mater, Minnesota, under Dan Monson (who resigned mid-season) and Jim Molinari. Medved then enjoyed success as an assistant coach at Colorado State under Tim Miles. Ali Farokhmanesh
Ali Fredrick Farokhmanesh (born April 16, 1988) is an American former professional basketball player and current Colorado State Rams men's basketball assistant coach. Farokhmanesh gained nationwide fame in the 2010 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament as a member of the Northern Iowa Panthers men's basketball team, when he hit a crucial three-point shot to help UNI upset top-overall seed Kansas in the second round. The 2017 Southern Conference men's basketball tournament took place Friday, March 3 through Monday, March 6 in Asheville, North Carolina, at the U.S. Cellular Center (Asheville, North Carolina), U.S. Cellular Center. 2016–17 Furman Paladins Men's Basketball Team
The 2016–17 Furman Paladins men's basketball team represented Furman University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Paladins, led by fourth-year head coach Niko Medved, played their home games at Timmons Arena in Greenville, South Carolina as members of the Southern Conference. They finished the season 23–12, 14–4 in SoCon play to finish in a three-way tie for the SoCon regular season championship. They lost to Samford in the quarterfinals SoCon tournament. Tim Miles
Timothy Sean Miles (born August 20, 1966) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head coach of the San Jose State Spartans men's basketball team. Miles previously served as the head coach of North Dakota State University, Colorado State University and the University of Nebraska. Miles is a graduate of the University of Mary. Coaching career Early career Following his playing career at the University of Mary, Miles spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Northern State University, where the Wolves went to four NAIA II national tournaments and two national championship games.
