Nikita Nesterov
Nikita Danilovich Nesterov (russian: Никита Данилович Нестеров; born 28 March 1993) is a Russian professional ice hockey defenceman for HC CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Playing career Junior Nesterov was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the fifth round, 148th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He was also drafted by the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL)'s Traktor Chelyabinsk, who selected him in the first round, 22nd overall, of the 2010 KHL Junior Draft. He opted then to play two seasons with Chelyabinsk in the KHL. On April 30, 2013, Nesterov was signed to a three-year, entry-level contract by the NHL's Lightning. The 2012 IIHF U20 World Championship (commonly known as the 2012 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships) was the 36th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship. IIHF World U20 Championship
The IIHF World Junior Championship (WJC), or simply the "World Juniors" in ice hockey circles, is an annual event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) for national under-20 ice hockey teams from around the world. It is traditionally held in late December, ending in early January. The tournament usually attracts the top hockey players in this age category. The main tournament features the top ten ranked hockey nations in the world, comprising the 'Top Division', from which a world champion is crowned. 2019 IIHF World Championship
The 2019 IIHF World Championship was hosted from 10 to 26 May 2019 by Slovakia. It was the second time that Slovakia has hosted the event as an independent country, as was the case in 2011. The host cities were Bratislava and Košice, as announced by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) on 15 May 2015 in Prague, Czech Republic. Finland won their third title by defeating Canada in the final. The Finns had 18 first-timers for the 2019 IIHF World Championship and were widely regarded as an outsider to win any medal at all. Jonathan Racine (born May 28, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing with HC Vita Hästen in the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan (Allsv). Racine was selected by the Florida Panthers in the third round (87th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career On April 3, 2013, the Florida Panthers of the NHL signed Racine a three-year entry-level contract and he began his professional career in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the San Antonio Rampage. On April 1, 2014, Racine was recalled to the Florida Panthers where he skated 15:35 in his NHL debut against the New York Islanders before being returned the following day to San Antonio.
