Nik Kosef
Nik Kosef (born 6 June 1974) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as a and second-row forward in the 1990s and 2000s. He was a state and international representative whose club career was spent with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles and the Northern Eagles. Club career Kosef made his first-grade debut for Manly in a round 18 match of 1992 against the Penrith Panthers. He played for the club and its related successor the Northern Eagles for eleven consecutive seasons although his last three years were interrupted by injury. He was a member of Manly's premiership winning side of season 1996 as well as the teams which lost the Grand Finals in 1995 and 1997 to Canterbury and Newcastle respectively. Four knee injuries limited his appearances at the Northern Eagles to just ten games during the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Cobar, New South Wales
Cobar is a town in central western New South Wales, Australia whose economy is based mainly upon base metals and gold mining. The town is by road northwest of the state capital, Sydney. Super League War
The Super League war was a commercial competition between the Australian Rugby League (ARL) and the Australian Super League to establish pre-eminence in professional rugby league competition in Australia and New Zealand in the mid-1990s. Super League, backed by Rupert Murdoch and News Corporation, competed with the ARL, supported by Kerry Packer and Optus Vision, in and out of court for broadcasting rights and supremacy in the sport. Super League had attracted several clubs disenchanted with the existing administration, and introduced two new clubs, as it attempted to establish itself as the dominant competition. After much legal action, when the ARL tried to block the new league, Super League ran one season parallel to the ARL's in 1997. 1999 Tri-Nations Series
The 1999 Rugby League Tri-Nations series was contested by Australia, Great Britain and New Zealand in 1999. It was the first multi-national rugby league tournament to feature the sport's three world powers since the 1989–92 World Cup (the 1995 World Cup featured England and Wales separately). Co-hosts Australia and New Zealand played in the final, which was narrowly won by the Kangaroos. Great Britain didn't win a game of the tournament. After the Lions narrowly defeated the Queensland Cup premiers, Burleigh Bears, a poor crowd attended their match against Australia at Suncorp Stadium. Fearing a similar attendance for the series final, the tournament organisers relocated the match to Ericsson Stadium.
