Donald Shebib
Donald Everett "Don" Shebib (born 27 January 1938) is a Canadian film director. Shebib is a central figure in the development of English Canadian cinema who made several short documentaries for the National Film Board of Canada and CBC Television in the 1960s before turning to feature films, beginning with the influential ''Goin' Down the Road'' (1970) and what many call his masterpiece, '' Between Friends'' (1973). He soon became frustrated by the bureaucratic process of film funding in Canada and chronic problems with distribution as well as a string of box office disappointments. After '' Heartaches'' (1981), he made fewer films for theatrical release and worked more in television. Shebib is Noah "40" Shebib's father. Arthur Hindle is a Canadian actor and director. Early life and education Hindle was born in Halifax. For 12 years, he alternated living with his divorced parents in addition to living in foster homes. He grew up in Bowmanville, and later at The Beaches area of Toronto, attending Riverdale Collegiate and Malvern Collegiate. Career Before he became an actor, Hindle modeled clothes in catalogs for Canadian companies Simpsons-Sears and Eaton's. He also was a stockbroker. Hindle has made guest appearances in a long list of television programs in North America, and has also appeared in several movies, dating from 1971. His first major role was in a biker movie, ''The Proud Rider'', spawned by the popularity of ''Easy Rider''. Hindle worked with a real motorcycle gang, Satan's Choice of Oshawa. Al Mukadam (born Ali Mukaddam; April 6, 1984) is a Canadian actor. He is known for his performance as Ray Brennan in the Family Channel television series ''Radio Free Roscoe'' (2003–2005). ''Down the Road Again'' is a 2011 Canadian drama film written and directed by Donald Shebib. The film is the sequel to Shebib's 1970 film ''Goin' Down the Road''. Plot Forty years after the events of ''Goin' Down the Road'', Joey has died in Vancouver and Pete—who left Toronto with Joey after a violent incident—must return to the city to honour Joey's request that his ashes be taken back to Cape Breton Island.
