''Night of the Prowler'' is a 1962 British crime thriller film directed by Francis Searle and starring Patrick Holt, Colette Wilde and John Horsley.Chibnall and McFarlane, p.154 It was shot at Shepperton Studios. The film's sets were designed by the art director George Provis. It was made as a second feature by Butcher's Film Service. Francis Searle
Francis Searle (14 March 1909 – 31 July 2002) was an English film director, writer and producer. He was active in the post-Second World War cinema industry. Amongst the films he directed were ''The Lady Craved Excitement'' (1950), '' One Way Out'' (1955) and '' It All Goes to Show'' (1969). Searle's later projects were all short films, either comedies or dramas, with his final film being made in 1972. A B movie or B film is a low-budget commercial motion picture. In its original usage, during the Golden Age of Hollywood, the term more precisely identified films intended for distribution as the less-publicized bottom half of a double feature (akin to B-sides for recorded music). Marianne Stone (23 August 1922 – 21 December 2009) was an English character actress. She performed in films from the early 1940s to the late 1980s, typically playing working class parts such as barmaids, secretaries and landladies.
