George Nigh
George Patterson Nigh (born June 9, 1927) is an American politician and civic leader from the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Nigh served as the 17th and the 22nd governor of Oklahoma and as the eighth and tenth lieutenant governor of Oklahoma. He was the first Oklahoma governor to be re-elected and the first to win all 77 counties in the state. Additionally, short term vacancies in the governor's office twice resulted in Nigh assuming gubernatorial duties while serving as lieutenant governor. Following his service as governor, Nigh served on the board of directors of JCPenney and as President of the University of Central Oklahoma and as director and public relations advisor for International Bank of Commerce. Prior to his election to statewide office, he worked as a teacher and legislator. Since the death of John M. Ronald Nigh
Ronald Nigh (born October 29, 1947) is an American ecological anthropologist focusing on Caribbean areas and the Maya region in Mesoamerica. Nigh is a professor and researcher at Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios Superiores en Anthropologia Social (CIESAS), where he continues his research on ecological anthropology. Early life Ronald Nigh was born October 29, 1947 in Kearney, Nebraska. Nigh attended Stanford University, where he received his BA in Anthropology in 1969. He continued his education at Stanford and received his MA in Anthropology in 1970 and his Ph.D in Social Anthropology in 1976. Nigh’s dissertation was about traditional Maya milpa agriculture in the highlands of Chiapas. He then spent one year at a public research institute continuing his work on traditional Maya agriculture and its relationship to biodiversity and forest regeneration. Bonnie Lenora "Jane" Nigh (February 25, 1925 – October 5, 1993) was an American actress. Early years Her sister Nancy was also an actress, and her mother worked in research at a film studio. Career She was discovered in 1944 by Arthur Wenzler while working in a defense plant. (Another source identifies Ivan Kahn as the 20th Century Fox talent scout.) She later signed a contract with Fox. William Nigh
William Nigh (October 12, 1881 – November 27, 1955) was an American film director, writer, and actor. His film work sometimes lists him as either "Will Nigh" or "William Nye". Biography Nigh was born Emil Kreuske''Silent Film Necrology'', p. 393 2nd edition c.2001 by Eugene Michael Vazzana in Berlin, Wisconsin. He began his film career as an actor, appearing in 17 films in 1913 and 1914; he also directed one of these, ''Salomy Jane''.
