Nigeria competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. In total, 308 athletes represented Nigeria at the games. Athletes representing Nigeria won 46 gold medals, 33 silver medals and 48 bronze medals and the country finished 2nd in the medal table. Flag Of Nigeria
Work toward freedom led to the formation of a national planning committee, which in 1958 named for a competition to choose a national flag. Thousands of designs were submitted, but the flag of equivalent green-white-green flat stripes, green stood for farming and white for unity and peace was chosen. The flag of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was designed in 1959 and first officially hoisted on 1 October 1960. The flag has three vertical bands of green, white, green. The two green stripes represent natural wealth, and the white represents peace and unity. Design The flag is an adaptation of the winning entry from Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi in a competition held in 1959. Akinkunmi was a 23-year-old student at the time he designed the flag. Weightlifting at the 2019 African Games was held from 25 to 30 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. The event served as a qualifier for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Rosemary Chukwuma
Rosemary Chukwuma (born 5 December 2001) is a Nigerian sprinter. She won a bronze medal in the metres relay at the 2018 Commonwealth Games as well as a gold medal in the metres relay at the 2019 African Games. In 2018, she won a gold medal in the 100 metres at the Summer Youth Olympics, clocking 11.17 seconds. Career Rosemary Chukwuma gained her first international experience at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia where she won a bronze medal behind the teams from England and Jamaica with the Nigerian relay team in 42.75 seconds. In the summer she won a gold medal with the relay team at the 2018 African Championships in Asaba but did not start over the 200 m event.
