Nigar Award For Best Actor
The Nigar Award for Best Actor, also known as Nigar Public Film Award for Best Actor is an award constituted for the cinema of Pakistan to recognise contribution of a lead actor in Lollywood. Established in 1958 by Ilyas Rashidi, it is presented annually by ''Nigar magazine'' as part of its annual ceremony of Nigar Awards. The award ceremony takes place independently and is not associated with any government or for-profit entities such as production house or television channel. The first Best Actor award ceremony took place in 1957 and was given to Santosh Kumar for ''Waada'' (1957). The last award was given to Fahad Mustafa in 2017 for ''Actor in Law''. Nigar Awards
The Nigar Awards ( ur, , translit=Inʿām Negār, lit=Picture Awards) were presented in an annual award show to recognize outstanding achievement in Pakistani cinema. The honors are awarded by Nigar Magazine founded in 1948. The Nigar Awards are Pakistan's version of the Academy Awards. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists. The first Nigar Awards ceremony was held in 1957, to honor the accomplishments of Pakistani cinema for the year 1956. In 2002, following the 46th Annual Nigar Awards, Nigar Magazine announced its discontinuation of the awards due to the collapse of the Pakistani cinema industry. After a 15-year hiatus, with the revival of Pakistani cinema, the 47th Nigar Awards were announced to be held on 16 March 2017 in Karachi. Jawed Sheikh
Jawed Sheikh (also spelled Javaid and Javed; born 8 October 1954) is a Pakistani actor, film director and producer who works in Lollywood and Bollywood. He is best known for working in the Hindi films ''Om Shanti Om'', '' My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves '', ''Namastey London'', etc. Career Born in Rawalpindi, Jawed Sheikh made his acting debut in the Lollywood film ''Dhamaka'', written by Pakistani writer Ibn-e-Safi released on 14 December 1974. Izhar Qazi
Izhar Qazi (16 September 1955 – 23 December 2007) was a Pakistani film and television actor and singer. He acted in more than 100 movies as well as numerous TV plays. In the latter category, his last major release was Syed Noor’s ''Zakham'' (1993), playing a vigilante. His most famous movies were ''Love In Nepal'', ''Aalmi Jasoos'', ''Khazana'', and ''Sar Kata Insaan''. He was a two-time recipient of the prestigious Nigar award. Mohammad Umer (19 April 1960 – 2 October 2021), known professionally as Umer Shareef, was a Pakistani actor, comedian, director, producer, and television personality. Early life Mohammad Umer was born on 19 April 1960, into an Urdu speaking family in Liaquatabad, Karachi. Mustafa Qureshi
Mustafa Qureshi is a Pakistani film and television actor. He has acted in more than 600 movies, in Urdu, Punjabi and Sindhi languages. He is best remembered for playing the antagonist Noori Natt in ''Maula Jatt'' (1979). He was born into a Sindhi family, despite his later work mainly in Punjabi cinema. Ali Ejaz (21 October 1942 – 18 December 2018) was a Pakistani film and television actor known for his film roles in '' FBI Operation Pakistan'' (1971), ''Sona Chandi'' (1983), and ''Chor Machaye Shor'' (1996). Syed Ishrat Abbas ( ur, ), (1928 – 8 November 1980) better known by his stage name Darpan ( ur, ), was one of the original romantic heroes of the "Golden Age" of Pakistan's film industry (also commonly known as Lollywood). Early life Syed Ishrat Abbas was born into a middle-class family originally from the United Provinces of India, where he was born in 1928. His older brother, Santosh Kumar, was also a film actor.
