Dals Långed
Dals Långed (meaning "passage between or along the water") is a locality situated in Bengtsfors Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 1,520 inhabitants in 2010. History Dals Långed was founded in the 1850s. Later, a mill was built, which however was replaced, on the initiative of future Minister of Finance Carl Fredrik Wærn, by a pulp mill built by a subsidiary of manor. When completed, Långed factory was one of Sweden's largest wood mills. A subsequent recession decreased the provision of paper pulp, and the managing director Alexander Hall Ings foundedDalsland's first paper mill in 1884. The need for pulp soon exceeded that which the sawmill could provide, and a sulphite mill was built in 1888. When the Baldersnäs company was dissolved in 1897 Långeds became an independent company. The sulphite mill burned down in 1902. Since the factory's capacity was at that time considered too low and production costs too high it was not rebuilt until 1906, whereafter p ...

Holocausto (band)
Holocausto are a heavy metal band from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. They were formed in 1985 by Marco Antônio, Valério Exterminator and Rodrigo dos Anjos. To date they have released five records through Cogumelo Records. They have been described by the journalist Eduardo Rivadavia as "Quite possibly the most controversial Brazilian heavy metal band ever". History Holocausto were formed in 1985 by Marco Antônio (bass), Valério Exterminator (vocals and guitar) and Rodrigo dos Anjos (guitar). After recording a demo (''Massacre'', 1985) and contributing to Cogumelo's ''Warfare Noise I'', the band caused controversy with their 1987 debut record, ''Campo de Extermínio''. Whilst previous South American bands, such as Sepultura, Vulcano and Sarcófago had toyed with anti-Christian sentiment and Satanism, Holocausto used vivid descriptions of Nazi atrocities in the concentration camps, leading to accusations of antisemitism. The band have claimed that they were "only trying to expose ...

Brazilian Thrash Metal
Brazilian thrash metal is a musical movement that originated in the 1980s. Though not as large or well known as the North American or European thrash metal movements, it bridged the gap of the mid-1980s and the death metal scene later in the decade and the first-wave of black metal. Although some bands have become mainstream, the scene is an underground icon. History 1980s: The beginning During the early eighties, bands from the United States, Germany and Canada, such as Metallica and Slayer (U.S.), Destruction and Kreator (Germany), and Voivod and Exciter (Canada) appeared. At the same time, Brazil had a growing scene and were influenced by the same music: NWOBHM and hardcore punk. Brazilian rock has its roots in the 1960s, developing from the movement called Jovem Guarda, passing through the stages of progressive rock and heavy metal. In 1982, the first Brazilian heavy metal LP was released by the band Stress from the northern city Belém. The European and North Amer ...

Black Sun Records
Black is a color which results from the absence or complete absorption of visible light. It is an achromatic color, without hue, like white and grey. It is often used symbolically or figuratively to represent darkness. Black and white have often been used to describe opposites such as good and evil, the Dark Ages versus Age of Enlightenment, and night versus day. Since the Middle Ages, black has been the symbolic color of solemnity and authority, and for this reason it is still commonly worn by judges and magistrates. Black was one of the first colors used by artists in Neolithic cave paintings. It was used in ancient Egypt and Greece as the color of the underworld. In the Roman Empire, it became the color of mourning, and over the centuries it was frequently associated with death, evil, witches, and magic. In the 14th century, it was worn by royalty, clergy, judges, and government officials in much of Europe. It became the color worn by English romantic poets, businessmen an ...

Bathory (band)
Bathory was a Swedish black metal band formed in Vällingby in March 1983. Eponymously named after the Hungarian countess Elizabeth Báthory, they are often considered pioneers of black metal (alongside Venom and Mercyful Fate) and viking metal. The 1998 book '' Lords of Chaos'' described Bathory's first four albums as "the blueprint for Scandinavian black metal." Acts influenced by their early records include Mayhem, Burzum, Darkthrone, Gorgoroth, Satyricon, Immortal, Emperor, Dark Funeral, Enslaved, Marduk, Moonsorrow and Dimmu Borgir. Bathory abandoned the black metal style for their fifth album, ''Hammerheart'' (1990), which is often cited as the first viking metal album. The band continued in the Viking metal style for most of their remaining existence, although they experimented with a thrash metal style on the albums ''Requiem'' (1994) and ''Octagon'' (1995). They stopped performing live early on and never toured; frontman, founder and main songwriter Tomas "Quorthon ...
