Timiș County
Timiș () is a county ('' județ'') of western Romania on the border with Hungary and Serbia, in the historical region of Banat, with the county seat at Timișoara. It is the westernmost and the largest county in Romania in terms of land area. The county is also part of the Danube–Criș–Mureș–Tisa Euroregion. Bara, Timiș
Bara ( hu, Barafalva; german: Barr) is a commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of five villages: Bara (commune seat), Dobrești, Lăpușnic, Rădmănești and Spata. Bara is located in the northeast of Timiș County, in a hilly area, 70 km from Timișoara and 30 km from Lugoj. History The first recorded mention of Bara dates from 1367. The name Bara is of Slavic origin and, in medieval documents, is associated with the description "terra acquosa", meaning a marshy land. In 1440 Bara is taken from the prefect of Timiș by King Vladislav I and given to the Șoimoș Fortress. By 1477 it was the property of the prefect of Pozsony, Miklós Bánffy. Under the Turks it was destroyed and re-established in 1690–1700. In 1879 Bara was bought by Pavel Teodorescu and Constantin Florea. Balinț
Balinț ( hu, Bálinc; german: Balintz) is a commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Balinț, Bodo ( hu, Nagybodófalva), Fădimac ( hu, Fagymag) and Târgoviște ( hu, Vásáros). It borders Bara to the north, Coșteiu to the south, Belinț and Ghizela to the west and Bethausen to the east. History Since the 10th–11th centuries, there have been numerous floods on the middle course of the Bega River. Balinț, being located 500 meters from the Bega riverbed, was periodically flooded. In the 11th century, some of the villagers moved to a hearth protected from floods. A new village appears, derived from the first, ''Balințul de Sus'' (Upper Balinț), located in the Church valley, and ''Balințul de Jos'' (Lower Balinț) remains on the old hearth. Bethausen
Bethausen ( hu, Bethlenháza; german: Bethausen; Banat Swabian: ''Pettlenhaas''; often Romanianized Betleaz) is a commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of six villages: Bethausen (commune seat), Cladova, Cliciova, Cutina, Leucușești and Nevrincea. Geography Bethausen is located in the northeast of Timiș County, on the right bank of Bega River, 26 km from Lugoj and 20 km from Făget. The relief is characterized by the predominance of the smooth surfaces of the Banat Plain, which extends as a gulf into the hills on Bega Valley. In the north, the commune's territory includes the last extensions of the Lipova Piedmont, and in the southeast the Făget Hills, located at the foot of the Poiana Ruscă Massif, from which they are separated by a chain of contact micro-depressions.
