Niels Søndergaard
Niels Søndergaard (born 12 October 1947) is a Danish writer and translator. In Denmark, Niels is one of the most active translator of sci/fi and fantasy books. He had translated influential books from English to Danish, including ''Dune'' by Frank Herbert, the ''Narnia'' saga of CS Lewis, Foundation series by Isaac Asimov, '' Earthsea'' trilogy by Ursula K. Le Guin and ''Shikasta'' by Doris Lessing and countless comics, including '' Calvin and Hobbes'' and the new translation of Tintin, movies and TV series. ''Dune'' is a 1965 epic science fiction novel by American author Frank Herbert, originally published as two separate serials in '' Analog'' magazine. It tied with Roger Zelazny's '' This Immortal'' for the Hugo Award in 1966 and it won the inaugural Nebula Award for Best Novel. It is the first installment of the ''Dune'' saga. In 2003, it was described as the world's best-selling science fiction novel. Doris May Lessing (; 22 October 1919 – 17 November 2013) was a British-Zimbabwean novelist. She was born to British parents in Iran, where she lived until 1925. Her family then moved to Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), where she remained until moving in 1949 to London, England.
