Niels Mathias Rye
Niels Mathias Rye (24 August 1824 – 6 February 1905) was a Norwegian politician. Biography Niels Rye was born at Bø i Telemark in 1824, as the son of Lieutenant Colonel Johan Mathias Rye (1793–1860) and Christiane Elisabeth Sparre, née Gasmann. He was a brother of Diderik Hegermann Rye. He married Thale Cathrine Rye, daughter of former President of the Storting Johan Henrik Rye. Having graduated with the cand.jur. degree from the Royal Frederick University in 1846, Rye started a career as a civil servant in Norwegian government ministries. He started as a clerk in the Ministry of the Interior and handled postal affairs. He eventually advanced to higher positions, being appointed head of division in the General Post Directorate in 1857. Unfortunately, his tenure ended fairly shortly as the agency existed only from 1857 to 1860. Niels Petersen Vogt
Niels Petersen Vogt (15 April 1817–8 November 1894) was a Norwegian civil servant and politician. He served as the Norwegian Minister of the Interior five times between 1871 and 1884, and member of the Council of State Division in Stockholm four times 1872–1883. He also served as County Governor in three different counties. Career He graduated with a Cand.jur. degree in 1839 and was immediately employed by the Ministry of Justice. He became bureau chief in 1843 and was promoted in 1847. From 1841 to 1842 he was also the acting mayor in Stavanger. Vogt was appointed as the County Governor of Søndre Bergenhus amt from 1850 until 1860. During that time, he was elected to the Storting from Bergen in 1857. Otto Albert Blehr
Otto Albert Blehr (17 February 1847 – 13 July 1927) was a Norwegian attorney and newspaper editor. He served as a politician representing the Liberal Party. He was the 8th prime minister of Norway from 1902 to 1903 during the Union between Sweden and Norway and from 1921 to 1923 following the Dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden. Biography Blehr grew up at a farm at Stange in Hedmark, Norway. His parents were Albert Blehr (1805–1872) and Maren Wilhelmine Ludovica Kathinka Stenersen (1818–1877). His father was a doctor and physicist at Sanderud Hospital. He graduated in 1865 and then began studying the University of Christiania. Blehr graduated cand.jur. in 1871. Ulrik Frederik Christian Arneberg (15 June 1829 – 30 October 1911) was a Norwegian jurist and elected official for the Conservative Party. Biography Arneberg was born in the village of Vanse in Vest-Agder, Norway. His father Ulrik Frederik Arneberg (1795-1835) was the senior priest at Vanse Church (''Vanse kirke'') in Farsund. Vår Frelsers Gravlund
The Cemetery of Our Saviour ( no, Vår Frelsers gravlund) is a cemetery in Oslo, Norway, located north of Hammersborg in Gamle Aker district. It is located adjacent to the older Old Aker Cemetery and was created in 1808 as a result of the great famine and cholera epidemic of the Napoleonic Wars. Its grounds were extended in 1911. The cemetery has been full and thus closed for new graves since 1952, with interment only being allowed in existing family graves. The cemetery includes five sections, including ''Æreslunden'', Norway's main honorary burial ground, and the western, southern, eastern and northern sections. The Cemetery of Our Saviour became the preferred cemetery of bourgeois and other upper-class families. It has many grand tombstones and is the most famous cemetery in Norway.
