Nidahas Trophy
Nidahas Trophy is an international cricket tournament held in Sri Lanka. The tournament is held to celebrate the independence of the Asian island country Sri Lanka. The tournament is not a regular event in the calendar with the previous tournaments having a gap of 20 years in between. Each of the three participating teams play each other twice and the top two progress to the final. In March 2017 Sri Lanka Cricket announced that the 2018 tournament would be played in the newer and shorter T20I format with Bangladesh entering the tournament, replacing the only Non-Asian team in the triple-nation New Zealand. 1998 Nidahas Trophy
The 1998 Nidahas Trophy, known as the Singer Akai Nidahas Trophy for sponsorship reasons, was a One Day International cricket tournament staged in Sri Lanka between 19 June and 7 July 1998, to commemorate the 50 years of Sri Lanka's independence and Sri Lanka Cricket, known then as the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka, the governing body of cricket in Sri Lanka. The competition involved Sri Lanka, India and New Zealand. Each team played every other team three times, and the two teams with most points progressed to the final. The event was marred by rain, with five of the nine qualifying matches abandoned. Sri Lanka won three matches while India won one in the group stage, before India won the final beating the former by 6 runs. Sri Lanka Cricket
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. It was first registered with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Sports (Sri Lanka), Ministry of Sports as the Board of Cricket for Sri Lanka (BCCSL) on 30 June 1975 as a national sports body. The board was renamed in 2003. The SLC operates all of the Sri Lankan national representative cricket sides, including the Sri Lanka national cricket team, Men's, Sri Lanka women's national cricket team, Women's and Sri Lanka national under-19 cricket team, Under-19 sides. Yuzvendra Chahal (born 23 July 1990) is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team in white ball cricket as a leg spin bowler. T20I
A Twenty20 International (T20I) is a form of cricket, played between two of the international members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), in which each team faces a maximum of twenty overs. The matches have top-class status and are the highest T20 standard. The game is played under the rules of Twenty20 cricket. Starting from the format's inception in 2005, T20I status only applied to Full Members and some Associate Member teams. However, in April 2018, the ICC announced that it would grant T20I status to all its 105 members from 1 January 2019. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Ajit Agarkar
Ajit Bhalchandra Agarkar (born 4 December 1977) is a former Indian cricketer and a commentator. He has represented India in more than 200 international matches in all three formats of the game. He is the third highest wicket-taker for India in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and has represented India in the 1999 Cricket World Cup, 2003 Cricket World Cup, 2007 World Cup and was member of the inaugural 2007 ICC World Twenty20 winning squad. Washington Sundar (born 5 October 1999) is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team. He also plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League and Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket. He is a left-handed batsman and right-arm off-spinner.
