Nicola Payne (cricketer)
Nicola Payne (married name Wilson; born 10 September 1969) is a Canadian-born former cricketer who played international cricket for both the Netherlands and New Zealand. She played primarily as a right-handed batter. She appeared in 37 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for the Netherlands and in 28 ODIs for New Zealand, and appeared at four World Cups. She played domestic cricket for Canterbury and Queensland. Nicola now plays tennis at Gullane LTC, and plays in a successful Mixed Doubles pair with Bryan Leslie. 1989 Women's European Cricket Championship
The 1989 Women's European Cricket Cup was an international cricket tournament held in Denmark from 19 to 21 July 1989. It was the first edition of the Women's European Championship, and all matches at the tournament held One Day International (ODI) status. Four teams participated, with the hosts, Denmark, joined by the three other European members of the International Women's Cricket Council (IWCC) – England, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Denmark was making its ODI debut. The tournament was played using a round-robin format, with England finishing undefeated in its three matches. Edmee Janss
Edmee Janss (born 4 July 1965) is a former Dutch international cricketer who played 21 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for the Dutch national side, including at the 1993 and 1997 World Cups. Janss appeared for a Young Netherlands team at the 1983 Centenary Tournament in Utrecht, which also featured the Dutch senior team and those of Denmark and Ireland. A right-handed opening batsman, her senior debut did not come until the 1989 European Cup in Denmark, where she played three matches with three different opening partners – Geeske Ludwig against England, Vanda Wesenhagen against Ireland, and Leine Loman against Denmark. Mikkelberg-Kunst-und-Cricket Center
Mikkelberg-Kunst-und-Cricket Center is a cricket ground in Hattstedt, Germany. The first recorded match on the ground was held in 1991 when Denmark Women played the Netherlands Women in a fixture. The ground later served as a venue for the two teams in four Women's One Day International, two in 1997 and two in 1998. These are the only major international cricket matches to be held in Germany. The 1997 Women's Cricket World Cup, also known as the Hero Honda Women's World Cup, was the sixth edition of the Women's Cricket World Cup, held in India. With 32 matches between a record 11 teams across 25 cricket grounds, England, Australia, New Zealand and India reached the semi-finals, with Australia and New Zealand progressing to the final match, which was played on 29 December 1997. Australia defeated New Zealand by five wickets to win their fourth championship title. The 1997 World Cup also set a number of records for the tournament. The 1993 Women's Cricket World Cup was an international cricket tournament played in England from 20 July to 1 August 1993. Hosted by England for the second time, it was the fifth edition of the Women's Cricket World Cup, and came over four years after the preceding 1988 World Cup in Australia. Ireland Women's Cricket Team
The Ireland women's cricket team represents Ireland in international women's cricket. Cricket in Ireland is governed by Cricket Ireland and organised on an All-Ireland basis, meaning the Irish women's team represents both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
