Nicola Davies (footballer)
Nicola "Nikki" Davies (born 28 December 1985) is a Welsh former Association football, football Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper who most recently played for Sheffield United W.F.C., Sheffield United Women. In 2013, she joined FA WSL club Doncaster Rovers Belles L.F.C., Doncaster Rovers Belles, after a long association with Liverpool L.F.C., Liverpool Ladies and a short spell at Chelsea L.F.C., Chelsea Ladies. Davies has represented Wales women's national football team, Wales at senior level. Club career Davies began playing for Menai Bridge Tigers' under-11 boys team. She joined Bangor City F.C., Bangor City in 2000 and was the recognised first choice goalkeeper until she moved to Liverpool L.F.C., Liverpool in September 2003. The FA WSL Spring Series was an interim edition of the FA WSL between the sixth and seventh full seasons. The Spring Series ran from February to May 2017 to bridge the gap from the 2016 FA WSL season which ran from March to September as a summer tournament, and the 2017–18 season which started in September 2017. While the 2017–18 season planned to feature 21 clubs, the Spring Series contained 20. The Women's Championship (formerly The FA Women's Championship) is the second-highest division of women's football in England. The division was established in 2014 as the FA Women's Super League 2 (WSL 2). WSL 2 replaced the previous level 2 division, the FA Women's Premier League (WPL) National Division, which ended after the 2012–13 season. The WPL's last national division champions, Sunderland A.F.C. Women, were not promoted and also became the first winners of WSL 2 in the 2014 season.
