Nicola Davies (author)
Nicola Davies (born 3 May 1958) is an English zoologist and writer. She was one of the original presenters of the BBC children's wildlife programme ''The Really Wild Show''. More recently, she has made her name as a children's author. Her books include ''Home'', which was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award, and ''Poo'' (2004), which was illustrated by Neal Layton, and was shortlisted for a Blue Peter Book Award in 2006; in the United States, the book is published as '' Poop: A Natural History of the Unmentionable''. Her children's picture book ''The Promise'' won the Green Book Award in 2015. She has also written several novels for adults under the pseudonym Stevie Morgan. Nicola Davies (footballer)
Nicola "Nikki" Davies (born 28 December 1985) is a Welsh former Association football, football Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper who most recently played for Sheffield United W.F.C., Sheffield United Women. In 2013, she joined FA WSL club Doncaster Rovers Belles L.F.C., Doncaster Rovers Belles, after a long association with Liverpool L.F.C., Liverpool Ladies and a short spell at Chelsea L.F.C., Chelsea Ladies. Davies has represented Wales women's national football team, Wales at senior level. Club career Davies began playing for Menai Bridge Tigers' under-11 boys team. She joined Bangor City F.C., Bangor City in 2000 and was the recognised first choice goalkeeper until she moved to Liverpool L.F.C., Liverpool in September 2003. Dame Nicola Velfor Davies (born 13 March 1953) is a judge of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales, to which she was appointed in 2018. At the Bar she practised in medical law. She is referred to as Rt Hon Lady Justice Nicola Davies. Early life Davies was born in Llanelli, Wales, and grew up in Bridgend. Her father, Eric Davies, was a chartered engineer who was employed by the Steel Company of Wales, and she has a younger brother called Jonathan. She was educated at Bridgend Girls' Grammar School (now closed), where she was the last head girl. In 1971 she entered Birmingham University to read law. Career After graduating, Davies worked briefly in a firm of solicitors before becoming an investment analyst in the City of London.
