Nicky Horne
Nicky Horne (born 3 September 1950) is an English DJ, who has worked for a variety of radio stations, including Capital Radio. Career Horne worked as a road manager for Emperor Rosko in 1969, before presenting shows on BBC Radio 1, from 1970 to 1973. Horne was one of the original line-up on London's Capital Radio, where he presented shows such as ''Your Mother Wouldn't like it'', ''Mummy's Weekly'' & ''6 of the Best''. He remained on Capital Radio until 1988, and also sat in for Alan Freeman presenting ''Pick of the Pops Take 2'' in 1986. He covered American football with Miles Aiken in the 1980s. Since then, he re-joined Radio 1 in the early 1990s where he was a stand-in presenter and at the same time, he presented a weekend afternoon show on Classic FM. Gold (British Radio Network)
Gold is a network of oldies radio stations in the United Kingdom, which was formed by the merger of the Capital Gold network and the Classic Gold network in August 2007. The station relaunched in March 2014 as a partly-automated service, broadcasting in fewer areas, after many of Gold's local AM/DAB frequencies were transferred to Smooth Radio. Most programming is broadcast from the Global Radio's studios in Leicester Square, London. As of September 2022, the network broadcasts to a combined weekly audience of 1.6 million, according to RAJAR. Virgin Radio UK is a national Hot Adult Contemporary radio station in the United Kingdom that launched on 30 March 2016, owned by Wireless Group which is itself a subsidiary of News Corp. Boom Radio (also Boom Radio UK) is an independent, commercial, national radio station in the United Kingdom. Owned by Boom Radio Ltd, the station is aimed at baby boomers, the generation of people born between 1946 and 1964, and is the first radio station in the UK to specifically target this age demographic. Launched on 14 February 2021, Boom Radio broadcasts nationally on the Sound Digital DAB multiplex and is also available online.
