Nicklas Boyer
Nicklas Swain Boyer (born July 17, 1993) is an American rugby union player who plays as a scrum-half for the Houston SaberCats of Major League Rugby (MLR) and the United States men's national team. Boyer has also represented the United States with the USA Selects and multiple age-grade sides. In rugby sevens, Boyer has played for the United States men's national team and the USA Falcons. He previously played for the MLR's Colorado Raptors. Early life Boyer was born on July 17, 1993, raised in Sacramento, California, and began playing rugby in his youth. Boyer attended Jesuit High School, where he participated in football and wrestling in addition to rugby. Boyer then attended University of California from 2011 until 2016, where he participated in the school's rugby teams in XVs and 7s and won Varsity Cup and Collegiate Rugby Championship titles. The Collegiate Rugby Championship (CRC) is an annual college rugby sevens tournament. The Varsity Cup Championship was an American college rugby competition established in 2012 to serve as an invitational championship following the breakaway of several schools from Division 1-A Rugby. The Varsity Cup was organized by United World Sport, the organization which also ran the USA Sevens tournament and the Collegiate Rugby Championship. Scholastic wrestling, also known in the United States as folkstyle wrestling, is a style of amateur wrestling practiced at the high school and middle school levels in the United States. Major League Rugby (MLR or USMLR) is a professional rugby union competition and the top-level championship for clubs in North America. In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15).
