Nickelodeon Splat City
{{Unreferenced, date=October 2016 Nickelodeon Splat City was a themed area inside of California's Great America (1995–2002), Kings Island (1995–2000), and Kings Dominion (1995–1999). It was based on many Nickelodeon shows, such as Double Dare, which had attractions that involved getting wet or messy. Attractions * Green Slime Zone: An attraction that involved guests navigating a maze of pipework that randomly burst with water, and in the early years, green tinted water. The maze still stands at one theme park, California's Great America, named Snoopy's Splash Dance. * Green Slime Transfer Truck: A truck that featured water hoses, video screens, and various levers and buttons triggering water bursts. The truck was also added at the Nickelodeon Studios, but was different than the one at Splat City (minus water hoses and video screens). California's Great America
California's Great America, often shortened to Great America, is a amusement park located in Santa Clara, California. Owned and operated by Cedar Fair, it originally opened in 1976 as one of two parks built by the Marriott Corporation. California's Great America features over 40 rides and attractions, and one of its most notable is Gold Striker, which has been featured as a top-ranked wooden roller coaster in '' Amusement Today's'' annual Golden Ticket Awards publication. Other notable rides include RailBlazer, a single-rail coaster from Rocky Mountain Construction, and Flight Deck, an inverted coaster from Bolliger & Mabillard. Nickelodeon Studios was a production studio and theme park attraction run by the television network Nickelodeon at Universal Studios Florida. Opening on June 7, 1990, as ''The First World Headquarters for Kids'', the studio attracted young tourists as contestants and audience members for Nickelodeon's live-action programming. At its peak, the studio employed 400 people and was the largest production studio in Florida, bringing $110 million in business to the state by 1994. ''Nick in the Afternoon'' was a programming block on Nickelodeon that aired from 1994 to 1998 on weekday afternoons during the summer, hosted by Stick Stickly, a Mr. Bill like popsicle stick puppeteered by Rick Lyon and voiced by New Yorker Paul Christie (who would later voice Noggin mascot, Moose A. Moose until 2012). The 1998 stint ran from July until August. Henry and June's Summer replaced this Nickelodeon summer block a year later.
