Nick Škorja
Nick Škorja (born 28 July 1998) is a Slovenian motorcycle speedway rider. Career Škorja appeared twice as a track reserve in the 2016 Speedway Grand Prix and once at the 2017 Speedway Grand Prix and 2018 Speedway Grand Prix. He has finished runner-up in the Slovenian Individual Speedway Championship in 2016, 2017, 2020 and 2022. He reached the finals of both the 2018 Speedway Under-21 World Championship and 2019 Speedway Under-21 World Championship. In 2019 he was selected for the Slovenian team for the 2019 Speedway of Nations. He would have made his British league debut for Newcastle Diamonds in 2020 but the season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The following season he signed for Landshut Devils in the Polish league. He has represented Slovenia in both the 2021 Speedway of Nations and 2022 Speedway of Nations. Laško
Laško (; german: Tüffer) is a spa town in eastern Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Laško. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region. The town is located at the foothills of Hum Hill on the Savinja River. It was first mentioned in written documents dating to 1227 and was granted town privileges in 1927. It is known to have been settled since the Iron Age and Roman archaeological finds are common in the area, though the precise location of the Roman settlement is not known. Today the town is best known for its annual Festival of Beer & Flowers (''Pivo - Cvetje'') and the local Laško Brewery, the largest brewery in the country. 2019 Speedway Of Nations
The 2019 Speedway of Nations was the second FIM Speedway of Nations. The competition consisted of two race-off events and a two-legged final. The event was won by Russia for the second consecutive year. They beat Poland in the Grand Final with Australia taking the bronze medal. Format The 2019 Speedway of Nations was a pairs event, with each nation being represented by two senior riders and one rider under the age of 21. Each meeting was staged over 21 heats with the scores from each rider added together to give a total for each nation. The two race-off events consisted of seven teams, with three qualifying for the final. 2021 Speedway Of Nations
The 2021 Speedway of Nations (sponsored by Monster Energy) was the fourth FIM Speedway of Nations. The competition consisted of two semi-finals and a final. The final was held on 16 & 17 October 2021 and was won by Great Britain, with Poland taking silver and Denmark bronze. During the final Poland took a first leg lead of ten points ahead of Great Britain. Britain's multiple world champion Tai Woffinden suffered an injury after crashing heavily and was replaced by Dan Bewley for the second leg. Denmark topped the points table during the second leg but Poland earned an automatic place in the grand final after finishing with the highest total from the two legs. This meant that Denmark and Great Britain would take part in the eliminator as the second and third best teams, which Britain won by 6 points to 3. Newcastle Diamonds were a motorcycle speedway team that raced in the SGB Championship, every Sunday night during the season (March–October) from their home at the Newcastle Stadium on the Fossway, Byker. The Stadium, previously known as Brough Park, is primarily used for greyhound racing with the speedway track built in the centre. The 2019 Individual Speedway Under 21 World Championship was the 43rd edition of the FIM Individual Under-21 World Championship. It was staged over three rounds, at Lublin, Güstrow and Pardubice. Wilki Krosno (''Wolves Krosno'') is a Polish motorcycle speedway team based in Krosno. The club operates under the name of ''Cellfast Wilki Krosno''. The team currently competes in the Ekstraliga (the highest division). The 2018 Individual Speedway Under 21 World Championship was the 42nd edition of the FIM Individual Under-21 World Championship and was staged over three rounds, at Daugavpils, Leszno and Pardubice.
