Nick Webb (musician)
Nicholas Webb (14 March 1954 – 5 February 1998) was an English acoustic guitarist, composer, and co-founder of contemporary jazz group Acoustic Alchemy. Webb was the brother of Alex Webb, the nephew of actress Sylvia Syms, and appeared as a child in '' The Punch and Judy Man'', British comedian Tony Hancock's second starring film, in which Syms played the wife of his character. Career Nick Webb was born in Manchester, Lancashire and educated at Berkhamsted School, Ashlyns School Berkhamsted, LAMDA, and Leeds College of Music. Captivated by the folk musicians of the 1960s, particularly John Martyn, he began playing and performing as a teenager and ran The Portcullis Club in Berkhamsted. At the beginning of the 1980s, Webb met classical and flamenco guitarist Simon James and founded Acoustic Alchemy as a duo, recording a self-financed, self-produced album in 1981. Nick Webb (soccer)
Nick Webb (born May 6, 1986) is a soccer striker, who played professionally for the Carolina Giants of the Puerto Rico Soccer League and the Vancouver Whitecaps of the USL First Division. Youth career Webb began his youth career with local Premier Division team, Whatcom FC Rangers. During his development with the Rangers, he was selected to the Washington State Olympic Development Program from the ages 15–18 and was selected 1 year with the Region IV Olympic program pool. He finished his youth club play with top club, Snohomish United Santos. In College, he began his career at Division II Western Washington University earning NWAC First Team All Conference honors as a freshman before transferring to Division I Oregon State University. At Oregon State, Nick received top honors including Second Team All-Conference as well as First Team All-Academic both his Junior and Senior years. Nick Webb (born 1971) is an Irish journalist. He succeeded his father-in-law Shane Ross as Business Editor at the '' Sunday Independent'' when Ross was elected as a TD. Webb married Rebecca Ross, Shane Ross's daughter, in July 1997. In 2009, he and Shane Ross were jointly honoured both as business journalist of the year and as overall Journalist of the Year. He had previously been Smurfit Business school specialist reporter of the year in 2008.
