''Nick Studio 10'' is a defunct programming block on Nickelodeon which debuted on February 18, 2013, and ended on June 17 of the same year, never returning from a planned hiatus after one additional 'best-of' Labor Day special on September 2, 2013. It aired weekday afternoons during the traditional school year from the network's headquarters building in Times Square in Manhattan, New York, and was presented live for viewers in the Eastern and Central time zones. The program was hosted by four teen actors (Troy Doherty, Noah Grossman, Malika Samuel and Gabrielle Senn) who created random and surreal comedy skits and other content directed toward pre-teens and teens. The program aired from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET (tape delayed for the Pacific feed), and was the first live afternoon block for the network since the short-lived 2007 block ''ME: TV''. Nickelodeon (often shortened to Nick) is an American pay television television channel, channel which launched on April 1, 1979, as the first cable channel for children. It is run by Paramount Global through its List of assets owned by Paramount Global#Kids & Family Entertainment, networks division's Kids and Family Group. ''The Fairly OddParents'' is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. The series follows the adventures of Timmy Turner, a 10-year-old boy with two fairy godparents named Cosmo and Wanda who grant him wishes to solve his everyday problems. The series originated from shorts on Nickelodeon's animation showcase ''Oh Yeah! Cartoons'' that aired from 1998 to 2002. Due to their popularity, the shorts were later green-lit to become a half-hour series, which premiered on March 30, 2001. A marathon is an event in which viewers or readers engage many hours' worth of media (film, television, books, YouTube videos etc.) in a condensed time period. This phrase represents a two-fold shift from binge-watch in that it incorporates other media (not just television) and it reduces the negative connotations associated with bingeing. In the 2014 book ''Media Marathoning: Immersions in Morality,'' Lisa Perks describes media marathoning as a "comprehensive and complimentary phrase" that "connotes a conjoined triumph of commitment and stamina. ''Nick in the Afternoon'' was a programming block on Nickelodeon that aired from 1994 to 1998 on weekday afternoons during the summer, hosted by Stick Stickly, a Mr. Bill like popsicle stick puppeteered by Rick Lyon and voiced by New Yorker Paul Christie (who would later voice Noggin mascot, Moose A. Moose until 2012). The 1998 stint ran from July until August. Henry and June's Summer replaced this Nickelodeon summer block a year later. Grant Building, is a 54-story office building on Times Square in the Theater District, Manhattan, Theater District of Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Surreal humour (also called surreal comedy, absurdist humour, or absurdist comedy) is a form of humour predicated on deliberate violations of causal reasoning, thus producing events and behaviours that are obviously illogical.
