Nick Spalding
Nick Spalding (born Isle of Wight, England, in 1974) is a British comedy novelist. Writings His self-published 2012 e-books ''Love From Both Sides'' and ''Love And Sleepless Nights'' were both best-sellers. ''Love From Both Sides'', which he describes as "a warts-and-all romantic comedy for everyone who knows how tricky the quest for love can be," sold a quarter of a million copies in 2012. Based on that book's success he signed up with Hodder and Stoughton. His books are currently published by Amazon Publishing's Lake Union imprint. He has some self-published books still published by Notting Hill Press and is often referred to as a 'hybrid' author because of this. A head shot or headshot is a modern (usually digital) portrait in which the focus is on the person. The term is applied usually for professional profile images on social media, images used on online dating profiles, the 'about us page' of a corporate website, and promotional pictures of actors, models, and authors. Entertainment industry In theater, film, and television, actors, models, singers, and other entertainers are often required to include a head shot, along with their résumé, when applying for a job. The Isle of Wight ( ) is a county in the English Channel, off the coast of Hampshire, from which it is separated by the Solent. It is the largest and second-most populous island of England. Hodder And Stoughton
Hodder & Stoughton is a British publishing house, now an imprint of Hachette. History Early history The firm has its origins in the 1840s, with Matthew Hodder's employment, aged 14, with Messrs Jackson and Walford, the official publisher for the Congregational Union. In 1861 the firm became Jackson, Walford and Hodder; but in 1868 Jackson and Walford retired, and Thomas Wilberforce Stoughton joined the firm, creating Hodder & Stoughton. Hodder & Stoughton published both religious and secular works, and its religious list contained some progressive titles. These included George Adam Smith's ''Isaiah'' for its ''Expositor’s Bible'' series, which was one of the earliest texts to identify multiple authorship in the Book of Isaiah. There was also a sympathetic ''Life of St Francis'' by Paul Sabatier, a French Protestant pastor.
