Nicholas Smith is a fictional character in the Australian soap opera ''Home and Away''. He first appeared during the episode airing on 18 March 1999, played by Matt Juarez in a guest role and then returned as a regular character on 26 April 2000, now played by Chris Egan, and departed on 12 September 2003. Christopher Andrew Egan (born 29 June 1984) is an Australian actor. He played Nick Smith in the Australian soap opera ''Home and Away'' from 2000 to 2003, and David Shepherd on the NBC television drama ''Kings''. He also portrayed Alex Lannon in the Apocalyptic TV series, ''Dominion''. Life and career Egan was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Sebastian "Seb" Miller is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera '' Home and Away'', played by Mitch Firth. He first appeared on 21 June 2001 and departed on 28 April 2004. Casting Actor Norman Coburn, who played Donald Fisher, was asked to help out during the auditions for Seb. Coburn recalled that Firth seemed to be "very nervous" and when he asked why, Firth told him that he was put off by his presence. After Coburn retreated, Firth went on to secure the part. Irene Roberts is a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera ''Home and Away''. She was originally played by actress Jacqy Phillips from her introduction in Episode 887 shown on 29 October 1991, until 13 May 1992 (Episode 1003).
