Nick Evans (trombonist)
Nick Evans (born 9 January 1947 in Newport, Monmouthshire, South Wales) is a Welsh former jazz and progressive rock trombonist. Career Evans worked in the Graham Collier Sextet (1968–69), Keith Tippett Group (1968–70), Soft Machine (1969), Brotherhood of Breath (1970–74), Centipede (1970–71), Just Us (1972–73), Ambush (1972), Ninesense (1975–80), Intercontinental Express (1976), Ark (1976, 1978), Nicra (1977), Dudu Pukwana's Diamond Express (1977), Spirits Rejoice (1978–79), and Dreamtime (1983). Early years He started playing the trombone at age 11 and by 1966 he had joined the New Welsh Jazz Orchestra. In that period he first joined the Graham Collier Sextet. In 1968 at the Barry school he worked with Keith Tippett and became a founding member of his sextet. He later worked with South African band Brotherhood of Breath and also Soft Machine. Nicholas Evans
Nicholas Benbow Evans (26 July 1950 – 9 August 2022) was a British journalist, screenwriter, television and film producer and novelist. Biography Nicholas Benbow Evans was born in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, son of Anthony Evans, director of a motor engineering company, and Eileen, née Whitehouse. He was educated at Bromsgrove School, where he was head boy. He served as a teacher in Senegal with the charity Voluntary Service Overseas for a year, after which he earned a first in law at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford. Following graduation he worked as a reporter for the Newcastle-upon-Tyne ''Evening Chronicle'' before moving to London Weekend Television where he worked on ''Weekend World'' and ''The London Programme'' and was executive producer of ''The South Bank Show'' from 1982 to 1984. During this time he also wrote and adapted screenplays for television broadcast. Nicholas Evans (artist)
Nicholas Evans (10 January 1907 – 5 February 2004) was a self-taught Welsh artist from Aberdare. He signed his paintings Nick Evans and was sometimes known by that name. His work was influenced by his spiritual beliefs as a Pentecostalist. Early life Evans was born in Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taf. Evans' talent in drawing was recognized by one of his primary school teachers, who encouraged him to sketch. He stopped after a while, for want of paper. He began work at the age of 14 as a miner, but this lasted only for three years, until the death of his father in 1923, which deeply affected Evans. His mother had also worked in the pits. In keeping with his mother's wishes, he left mining and became a railwayman, eventually finding a job as a Great Western Railway engine driver for coal trains in the Cynon Valley. Nicholas Reginald Evans (born January 30, 1986) is an American former professional baseball infielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks, in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, and for the Doosan Bears of the KBO League. Evans primarily played first base in the minor leagues, only beginning to play the outfield in the 2008 season. Professional career Nick Evans was born in Glendale, Arizona. He was selected out of St. Mary's High School in Phoenix, Arizona, by the Mets in the fifth round of the 2004 MLB draft. Nicholas John Evans (born 9 September 1954) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler who played for Somerset. He was born in Weston-super-Mare. He made a single first-class appearance for Somerset, during the 1976 season, having played in the Minor Counties Championship since 1972. Playing against Worcestershire, Evans scored a duck in the only innings in which he batted, and bowled 18 wicketless overs during the match. Nicholas John Evans (born 14 August 1980) is a New Zealand former rugby union player. He played at fly-half and fullback. He played for the Highlanders and the Blues in Super 14. At 28 he joined Harlequins for the 2008–09 Premiership Rugby season, and remained with the club until his retirement on a deal reportedly worth £320,000 a year. He retired at the end of the 2016–17 season and is now a coach for Quins.
