Classic Diamonds
''Classic Diamonds'' is the ninth studio album by the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. It was released worldwide in 2004 by AFM Records. The album presents new acoustic and symphonic arrangements for songs from Doro's repertoire, as well as some new compositions. The music is mostly played by the Classic Night Orchestra, an ensemble of young classical musicians that accompanied Doro in the following European tour. Overview Doro Pesch had already experienced mixing her powerful hard rock vocals with a symphonic orchestra in 2001 in a concert in Düsseldorf and later in 2003 for a benefit concert in Bochum. Excerpts from both shows are contained in the '' Für Immer'' DVD. The results of the two shows and the reaction of the fans prompted the German singer to plan a more organic approach to the symphonic facets of her songs, scheduling an album and a tour with an orchestra. The Classic Night Orchestra was recruited looking for young, open-minded, and multi-ethnic classic ...

Fight (Doro Album)
''Fight'' is the eighth studio album of the German female heavy metal singer Doro Pesch. It was released worldwide in 2002 by SPV/Steamhammer. ''Fight'' is the first Doro album since ''Force Majeure'' to be produced with a strong contribution from the members of the band that accompanied the German singer on her tours. Nick Douglas, Joe Taylor and Johnny Dee had toured with Doro for more than ten years, while Oliver Palotai replaced Mario Parillo after his death in 2001. The songs of the album are the usual mix of aggressive metal and soft ballads, with a distinctive rawer sound than in previous albums. At this time Doro tried some versions of the songs in languages different form English or German. What remains of these recordings are the chorus of "Salvaje" in Spanish and the chorus of the single's b-side "Tourjour pour Gasner" in French. The list of musicians sees the contribution of various guests: Type O Negative vocalist Peter Steele, Savatage guitarist Chris Caffery, for ...

Calling The Wild
''Calling the Wild'' is the seventh solo album by German hard rock singer Doro Pesch. It was released in 2000, in two different editions for the European market and the American one. For this release, Doro changed labels again, having signed contracts with SPV/Steamhammer for Germany and with Koch Records for the USA. ''Calling the Wild'' was the first album published in the US after the eponymous one in 1990. The US edition contains also remixed tracks taken from the previous Doro album ''Love Me in Black''. "Love Me Forever" is a cover of Motörhead's song from the album ''1916'' of 1991. "White Wedding" is a cover of Billy Idol's hit single of 1982 . Overview After unsatisfying promotion and distribution of ''Love Me in Black'' by WEA, Doro signed in 2000 with German label SPV/Steamhammer. With the aide of her American fan club that had her demos circulating in the offices of various labels, she received an offer for an American release of her new album by Koch Records. She si ...

Love Me In Black
''Love Me in Black'' is the sixth solo album of the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. It was released in 1998, after the dissolution of her contract with Polygram/Vertigo. Her new label WEA decided to publish the album only in Europe. Overview ''Love Me in Black'' is the first album released by Doro after her split from the PolyGram/Vertigo label, which had published all her works since 1985. Her new label WEA left her ample freedom for the making of her new album and she worked on it for more than two years, splitting its production in two teams. The first team was formed by the successful American producers and musicians Jimmy Harry and Fred Maher, the second team by former members of the German industrial rock band Die Krupps Jürgen Engler and Chris Lietz, who had already collaborated on Doro's previous album '' Machine II Machine'' and on the following EP of remixes. The result of this double approach to production is surprisingly homogeneous, combining a heavier g ...

Machine II Machine
''Machine II Machine'' is the fifth studio album by the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album was released in March 1995 and mixed by Kevin Shirley and Greg Smith. It is the most mainstream oriented album of the German singer to date, thanks to the production of Jack Ponti (Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Baton Rouge) and the collaboration of musicians and authors coming from pop, country and even Latin music. The lyrics break new ground for Doro, as many of the songs deal with erotic themes. The last track is a remix done by members of the German industrial metal band Die Krupps, who worked with Doro on her next albums. The limited edition of the album contains the bonus track "Tie Me Up (Hard & Fast mix)". The album peaked at position No. 33 in the German Longplay chart. Angels Never Die
''Angels Never Die'' is the fourth solo album of the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album was released in February 1993 and was produced by Jack Ponti and Vic Pepe. The two producers had worked with Alice Cooper on the hit single "Hey Stoopid" and had produced minor glam metal bands like Surgin' and Baton Rouge. The sound and musical style of ''Angels Never Die'' is very similar to what can be heard on the second Doro solo album, alternating heavy rock tracks with large choruses and power ballads, in the vein of the declining glam metal that had dominated the American rock charts for the first part of the decade. The album was not published in the US and had limited success in Europe. However, the video for the song "Bad Blood" was voted best anti-racism video during the first MTV Europe Music Awards ceremony in 1994. ''Angels Never Die'' remained on the German Longplay chart for 13 weeks, peaking at position No. 21. Track listing All credits adapted from the or ...

Cover Band
A cover band (or covers band) is a band that plays songs recorded by someone else, sometimes mimicking the original as accurately as possible, and sometimes re-interpreting or changing the original. These remade songs are known as cover songs. New or unknown bands often find the format marketable for smaller venues, such as pubs, clubs or parks. The bands also perform at private events, for example, weddings and birthday parties, and may be known as a wedding band, party band, function band or band-for-hire. A band whose covers consist mainly of songs that were chart hits is often called a top 40 band. Some bands, however, start as cover bands, then grow to perform original material. For example, The Rolling Stones released three albums consisting primarily of covers and then recorded one with their own original material. Cover bands play several types of venues. When a band is starting out, they might play private parties and fundraisers, often for little or no money, or in retu ...
