Nick Baumgartner
Nick Baumgartner (born December 17, 1981) is an American snowboarder from Iron River, Michigan. He competes in snowboard cross (SBX) and qualified for the 2010 Winter Olympics. He won the gold and silver medals in the 2011 and 2012 Winter X Games. Baumgartner competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics and won his first Olympic gold at the age of 40 in the 2022 Winter Olympics when he and teammate Lindsey Jacobellis won the inaugural Olympic mixed snowboard cross race. Baumgartner began off-road racing in 2011, winning the Rookie of the Year "Stock Truck" award before advancing to Pro Light trucks in 2012. Iron River is a city in Iron County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 3,029. A podium (plural podiums or podia) is a platform used to raise something to a short distance above its surroundings. It derives from the Greek ''πόδι'' (foot).
