Nick Adams (racing Driver)
Nick Adams (born 7 August 1948) is a British former racing driver. Adams raced in British Formula Atlantic competition in 1980 and 1981. He began racing part-time in the World Sportscar Championship in 1985 and raced there until 1992. He made his 24 Hours of Le Mans debut for Chamberlain Engineering driving a Spice SE89C in 1989. He drove that car for Chamberlain until 1993. He made a single British F2 start in 1992 for Madgwick International. He made his last Le Mans drive in 1995 driving a GT2 Class Porsche 911 to sixth in class. Adams rounded out his career driving a Jaguar XJ220 for Chamberlain in one race of the Global GT Championship in 1996, then returning to racing in 2006 to make six starts in the FIA GT3 European Championship in an Ascari KZ1 The Ascari KZ1 is a sports car made by Ascari Cars. The BPR Global GT Series (sometimes referred to as the BPR Global GT Endurance Series or simply abbreviated as BPR.) was a grand tourer-based sports car racing series which ran from 1994 to 1996 before becoming the FIA GT Championship in 1997. The Ascari KZ1 is a sports car made by Ascari Cars. The car is named from the initials of Ascari's owner Klaas Zwart, a wealthy Dutch businessman. The KZ1 made its worldwide debut at the 2005 Autosport International with a price tag of £235,000. Each car required 340 hours of handcrafting at Ascari's 45,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Banbury, England by a team of 30 highly skilled craftsmen. Owners also received the opportunity to drive the car at the Ascari-managed Race Resort Ascari in Spain. Production was limited to 50 units. FIA GT3 European Championship
The FIA GT3 European Championship was a sports car racing series organized by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO) and regulated by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It was a championship derived from the international FIA GT1 World Championship, but meant to provide competition for more amateur racers in closer to production cars. The series used extensive performance balancing and handicap weights to make cars more equal. Jaguar XJ220
The Jaguar XJ220 is a two-seat sports car produced by British luxury car manufacturer Jaguar from 1992 until 1994, in collaboration with the specialist automotive and race engineering company Tom Walkinshaw Racing. The XJ220 recorded a top speed of during testing by Jaguar at the Nardo test track in Italy. This made it the fastest production car from 1992 to 1993. According to Jaguar, an XJ220 prototype managed a Nürburgring lap time of 7:46.36 in 1991 which was faster than any production car lap time before it. The XJ220 was developed from a V12-engined 4-wheel drive concept car designed by an informal group of Jaguar employees working in their spare time.
